Botum Palace Hotel

Love the well trained staff who went out of their way to be helpful.

I’ve been in hostels since march so I treated myself to an actual hotel for 3 days. I was happy to have been upgraded for free as I booked the most basic room. The bed was big and had a big closet with a robe. It had a fridge and 2 mini terraces. The hotel had an elevator and thank god for that bc I was on the 7th floor. The entire bathroom was the shower so expect for the toilet seat to get wet in the process. Free water bottles provided Staff was always kind and always greeted me upon entering and leaving Hotel is located in an alleyway but the name of the hotel is right on top of the alleyway entrance so you always know you’re walking the right way. Lots of dining options nearby.

ANTS!!! So many little ants everywhere. I would be late night scrolling in bed and see little ants crawling on my phone or on my arm, even killed some on my pillow which was gross no matter the size. There were alot of mini ants in the bathroom as well. I had put my backpack on the table and soon enough all those small ants were crawling all over. I cleaned my bag and put it on the chair which was better. I put nothing on the table or floor. I was shocked to even see a little gecko inside my room on the 7th floor and when I scared it away, I saw it crawl through the hole behind the ac. On my last night, there was a big cockroach that was dead on its back near the fridge which was so gross. There were pictures of some tours that were being offered and when I inquired about the cost of the food tour, they said they didn’t have those tours anymore so I told them to remove the sign at the front desk if that was the case.

Staff were really nice and did their best to accommodate to my requests.

Heater on the first day when I early check in was faulty. At least they changed room for me and upgraded my room after. So all good.

Dark walk way to hotel As a lone female traveler It was very intimidating to walk to the hotel at night . Would not recommend it to lone. Female traveler for this reason . The front of the hotel is not shown in pictures Which I did not notice when booking.

All is good. Only the location is a bit difficult to find as it is located in the small alley. However, you will not get disappointed to stay here because the local market is really nearby where you Will enjoy to see the fresh vegetables and many things and many good breakfast places.

The friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff whenever I saw them was an absolute joy. The room was spacious and comfortable.

When the taxi driver said he couldn't drop me at the front door, I was a little surprised. The reason was that the entrance is in a narrow alleyway. It didn't look very appealing to say the least. However, I soon got used to it, and in the end it was all part of my adventure.

Staff were lovely and so enthusiastic greeting guests. Room was very big and comfortable. All you need. Location close to walking street.
