CASA AGUELO Chocolate Hills

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Stay Near the Chocolate Hills Casa Aguelo was the perfect place to stay while exploring the incredible Chocolate Hills area in Bohol. The location simply couldn’t be better — it’s just minutes from the hills themselves, making it an ideal base for early morning visits before the crowds arrive and for exploring the surrounding countryside. The accommodation was excellent — clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and the peaceful setting made it a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. A special mention must go to Porsche, who manages the property. She was absolutely fantastic — incredibly helpful, welcoming, and always quick to respond to any questions or requests. Her hospitality really made the stay extra special. The owner Bernard was also wonderful and clearly takes great pride in the property. If you’re planning to visit the Chocolate Hills or explore this beautiful part of Bohol, I would highly recommend Casa Aguelo. It’s a fantastic place to stay with warm hosts, a great atmosphere, and an unbeatable location. We would happily stay here again.

Was perfect for our needs

La cuisine est incroyable ! Et le chef est très gentil. Super petit dej mais très bons plats locaux également, nous voyageons depuis 10 jours aux Philippines et c’est ici qu’on a le mieux mangé. La chambre très spacieuse (nous avions réservé la quadruple). Le service : on nous a aidé à booker les activités et transports pendant notre séjour. L’emplacement permettant de faire les chocolate hills à pieds.

L’isolation, on entend tout : des voisins aux coqs à 3h du matin. Prévoir les boules quies.

The property was spotless, especially impressive considering it is located in the middle of nature. The views were beautiful. Really easy access to the chocolate hills with a good breakfast (the fruits were very fresh!)

Food was priced high. I think I may have felt that the property held more value if I stayed in one of the smaller rooms that were cheaper. The only room left was the deluxe room, and while the room itself was nice, i do not believe it was worth $101 per night. When we asked questions about how to get to the “private” chocolate hills mentioned in other reviews, we were not given very specific directions on how to get there and there are no signs, resulting in us getting lost and covered in mud. However, I will say the staff let us use the hose and a brush to clean our boots after we got back which was very kind of them.

Die Unterkunft hatte eine gute Lage um die Chocolate Hills oder die Tarsiere zu besichtigen. Nettes Personal. Wir konnten vor Ort bei der Unterkunft einen Roller mieten. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung.

Wir hatten das Deluxe Doppelzimmer gebucht, welches sich im EG befindet - direkt neben der offenen Küche ohne Türe. Man hat hier alles mitbekommen - Gerüche als auch den Lärm. Leider hatten wir extrem viele Insekten in unserem Zimmer. Außerdem ist das Zimmer extrem hellhörig, man hörte jeden Schritt über uns. Unser Zimmer lag direkt neben der Toilette des Hotels - hier gab es eine Art Verbindungstür zu unserem Zimmer, woraus eine riesige Armeisenstraße herauskam. Auf den Bildern sieht es aus, als hätte das Zimmer einen eigenen Balkon - dies ist jedoch nicht korrekt und sehr irreführend. In dem Zimmer hat man leider nur einen Ausblick auf den Hinterhof. Wir blieben nur für eine Nacht und das war ok.

Un hébergement au calme avec une vue sur les Chocolaté Hills. Un très bon petit déjeuner et un personnel à votre écoute.

Attention, ils ne prennent pas la carte bleue, comme beaucoup aux Philippines. N’oubliez pas de prendre du cash

Sehr gepflegt, nettes Personal, super Lage für die chocolate hills (fußläufig erreichbar ist der offizielle Viewpoint sowie ein weiterer kleinerer), sehr ruhige Umgebung, super Frühstück, sehr sauber.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr westlich gestaltet mit Kronleuchter, Couch, Jazzmusik läuft, kleine Getränkebar inkl. Wein, wenig "Philippinen-vibes", was für einige aber evtl auch ein "Komfortplus" ist/ reine Geschmackssache.

This was an amazing spot. Hosts are super helpful and friendly. Very clean and reasonably priced. The food was a pleasant surprise.
