Carpe Diem Kamaida

Truly a fantastic place to stay. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The host, Christophe, was very kind and accommodating to any requests we had and check-in was flexible. We had a wonderful time at Carpe Diem and wished we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend it to anyone!

Location is in the center of pretty much everything. It’s a short driving distance from Niyodo Blue, Nakatsu Gorge, Shikoku Karst, and Kochi city. It’s a perfect base if you want to explore the area around. The Ochi village itself is also very serene and beautiful. The house is impeccably clean, well-designed, spacious, cozy and very comfortable. You can see the river and submerged bridge from the house. The house is fully equipped with everything one would need during a trip and more. We’re especially impressed with the kitchen. It is a full function kitchen. You can cook some seriously nice food in it. We bought some good quality beef and cooked it in the kitchen and it was one of the nicest meals we had on this trip. We stayed here for 2 nights but we wish we had more time to spend here. Chris, the host is a very attentive and helpful host. He gave us a lot of useful advice for the trip. We had the best experience here and would love to come back soon.

The house was beautiful and spacious and everything we hoped for! The surroundings were stunning as well and check-in was easy and flexible.

Very spacious, serene location overlooking the river and a short walk from one of the submersible bridges. The house had everything we needed and is beautifully renovated while still containing original features of a traditional Japanese house. The futons were very comfortable to sleep. We will be back!

Excellent Hidden Property along the Niyodogawa river. Just beside the Aso Submersible Bridge. The quality of the house is so excellent that it is too underrated and the photos don’t do justice. The actual house seems to be so better and witty visiting.
