Casa Renato Amalfi

Perfect location in the heart of Amalfi. Beautifully styled apartment, ideal for couples visiting the Amalfi Coast. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and lovely which made the stay even better.

The apartment was less than 10 min walk from the harbor, on a quiet street next to the main shopping street. It has a window with a small balcony overlooking the traditional quiet side street with no sea view. The small apartment has a modern design, air conditioning unit and a separate bathroom, safe and kitchenette. The bathroom has all amenities. Tea and coffee machines, cold beverages and some snacks are provided. The host Andrea is very helpful and energetic. A good family restaurant Trattoria dei Cartari is nearby.

The host and his dad were very nice and hospitable. The room was clean and modern (although a little smaller than what is depicted in the pictures).

Unfortunately, this place is not worth what I paid (300€ per night). Not even half that in my opinion. I feel ripped off. I stayed in more expensive towns in the same price range, centrally located, and I got a lot more value (perks, services and quality) for my money. First, the location: Now that I’ve been to the beautiful Amalfi, I would not recommend staying on the touristy street. Although it is “historical”, that particular street is extremely noisy and crowded. Amalfi is a very beautiful and is small town; everything is close by with easy access to the beach and sights. I wish I had stayed just 10 minutes away from this dungeon-like apartment, in a less chaotic and a brighter area. Second, the place feels dark and enclosed. A "balcony with city views" is advertised" in the description, but in reality it’s a tight space that faces a wall with electrical wires and a staircase in a narrow alleyway (see pictures). It’s very noisy and stinky (smell of cooking oil from the kitchen fans of the pizzeria). There’s no natural light whatsoever. No way to get any fresh air. It's completely useless. Additionally, the building entrance has a thick electrical wire sticking out (which I always tried to avoid out of concern for safety). The door is very heavy and made of metal, so every time it closes, it sounds like a prison door being slammed. It’s very bothersome at nighttime. Lastly, the right side of the mattress seems overused and has started to sink in. It’s uncomfortable to sleep on that side. Overall, I think this place is greatly overpriced considering how basic it is and the many negative aspects.

Can be noisy in the early morning restaurant closures.

The decor was beautiful, the property was well equipped and was spotlessly clean. Andreas was the perfect host, he met us to take us to the property and immediately made us feel very welcome

Very central location, easy walk to marina. Room was small but modern, had everything you would need.

It was just too noisy, we couldn’t sleep well during our stay. The entryway to the building felt dodgy.
