Nice place on the Salkantay trail. They made basic vegan food on request (just make sure to explain).

For just $18 I had lodging, dinner, and breakfast! Food was tasty, and the host was kind and helpful. The room was cold at night, which was expected, and they provided warm blankets.

Overnight stay while hiking the Salkentay. Meals were delicious, bed was comfortable, friendly staff. Staff speaks Spanish but I was able to get by on ‘survivor Spanish’ just fine. Beautiful grounds. Very simple rooms.

Had to pay 7 soles for a small towel to use for bathing. The property has two showers. One was cold and the other was supposed to be hot. The ‘hot’ shower was freezing cold. I did not need the towel, I was too miserable to take a cold shower. I wish they would not advertise they have a hot shower- then my expectations would have been lower. Bring your own soap to wash hands! No toilet seat, but this appears to be the norm in many places.
