The location on top of the village was beautiful. You can find parking along the top access route and walk down a tad. Or walk up from village. Which requires very adequate mobility as it is steep. The view from the terrace was exceptional. Both day and night. The terrace is a the biggest draw. It has a built in sofa and a big marble table. There are also sun loungers. The sun is very bright and hot so terrace is usable when it’s cooler eves or mornings. It is covered but it is still hot during peak sun hours. Inside the house, the living room and the bedrooms remain cooler and stay fresh all day as house is built into rock. The beds were comfortable to sleep on. Bedding was nice and ample towels provided. There is a smaller room with a double bed and a larger room with two twin beds. There were ample good quality sample size toiletries to use. Soaps, lotion, conditioner and shampoo. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, tools and dishes. The decor of the house is eclectic with folk art touches and pleasant. The housekeeper (owner is not on Skyros) was delightful and helpful. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Overall it was a good stay and we would recommend it.

The bathroom is not made for taller folks as they will bump their head. I am 5.8” and it was ok, but over 6 feet is going to be problematic. Due to the house being built in rock, it remains cooler but also darker. The kitchen area feels somewhat cramped and you are squeezed in when washing dishes or cooking. There is a dining room with table and chairs, but the terrace is ideal for dining. There is no storage in closets except to hang clothes as all drawers are full. Not really an issue however, if you stay a few days. We never used a/c as it was cool at night. Can’t say anything about that. Lastly, it’s easy to find once you know, but it can be hard to locate the first round. We had to ask someone for help. You let yourself in with a code.

Η τοποθεσία ήταν πάρα πολύ καλή αφού αφήσαμε το αυτοκίνητο στον λόφο και ήταν πολύ κοντά με το σπίτι. Τα κρεβάτια ήταν πάρα πολύ άνετα και είχαμε πολύ ξεκούραστο ύπνο.

Δυστυχώς δεν νοιώσαμε καθόλου άνετα με την καθαριότητα. Τα πατώματα ήταν βρώμικα και υπήρχε πολύ σκόνη και στους αρμούς και πίσω από τα κρεβάτια. Επίσης μας είχαν ενημερώσει πως θα ερχόντουσαν να φτιάξουν το σκίαστρο την πρώτη μέρα αλλά μέχρι να φύγουμε δεν είχε φτιαχτεί. Αυτό δεν είναι κάτι που μας ενόχλησε βέβαια όπως το θέμα της καθαριότητας

Küche und Du/WC sind schlecht brauchbar: - Raumhöhe im WC sehr gering - Schiebetür aus Sperrholz - Dusche läuft nicht ab - WC sehr klein - Kühlschrank versperrt Zugang zum Waschbecken - Materialien sehr günstig Terrasse: - defekte Möbel - Zeug steht rum - Pergolaüberdachung wirkt gebastelt und hält dem Wind nicht stand Zugangscode für Schlüsselkasten hat nicht funktioniert; zum Glück nahm Vasiliki um 23 Uhr das Telefon ab. Netter Gastgeber, einfach in der Kommunikation.

Our stay at Vasiliki Skyros Castle View was absolutely great. In a nutshell: very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, good amenities, a simply wonderful host in a fantastic location and a fantastic small town. This was a mid December relax-out-of-the-city visit so we were expecting that many of the things that would apply for a summer visit would not apply for the island. And yes, for mid December, we did not find hot weather but we got instead good weather, a real and welcoming town, away from the crowds, with wonderful people and many options for dining. Our accomodation helped to have a great visit. It is a 2 bedrooms village home, with a small living room, another room with a dining table, kitchen and bathroom. In front of the apartment there is a stunning terrace with ample space, overlooking the small town. The house is a well kept and spotlessly clean restored village home. Beds are comfortable, decor is stylish. Kitchen and bathroom are on the small side but it was perfect for us. We easily prepared breakfasts and a meal each evening in the apartment's kitchen that has all the things you need from pans, plates etc, to a modern stove, a spacious refrigerator and the needed smaller appliances like kettle etc. The house was absolutely quiet and our quality of sleep was better from the place i live. The host has been absolutely perfect. We got an information mail right after the booking and our back and forth communication was smooth, kind, without any issues. Parking was available near the house. Is this an accomodation i would return? Yes without any hesitation. It is a great accomodation in a great real Greek island town. Is Skyros a destination i 'd return? Yes again, without any hesitation. When would i return?

I have a hard time to find things i disliked. Acommodation and communication went smoothly from booking till departure. Despite this being an out of the season visit, we had a fantastic time. Would our visit be different in June? Of course. You cannot compare a Greek island in-season visit with a winter visit. Despite this being out of the season, we got decent weather, lots of sunshine, a fully functional and very photogenic town and an accomodation that offered welcoming and absolutely consistent service even if the time of the visit was out of the main season. Beautiful view. Lovely size. Clean . Very well kitted out. Comfortable . Good kitchen and bathroom.

Had to sleep with the doors open to get the benefit of the one air conditioning unit. Quite a few lamps didn't work. There was no bottle opener.

Wonderful, quiet location above the Village. A big terrace to enjoy the views.

I think the A/C needs some service.
