On a positive note, the food at the hostel/hotel is excellent, and the staff in the food and beverage, and housekeeping departments are friendly and efficient.

I recently stayed at Oak house, during the Hornbill Festival, a time when the city comes alive with music, food, and cultural events. It's a time when people love to roam around and enjoy the festivities with friends and family. However, I was surprised to find that the Hotel/hostel has strict timings for entering the premises, which seemed out of place given the festive atmosphere. It's not uncommon for friends to drop by or want to hang out during this time, but the hostel's rules made it difficult for us to do so. The fact that there are charges for guests visiting after hours also seemed unreasonable, especially when you're trying to enjoy the festival with friends. However, I think the front office staff needs some training on how to handle guests and their visitors. A more discreet and polite approach would go a long way in making guests feel more comfortable. Overall, I would recommend it for its good food and comfortable accommodation, but I hope the management will look into improving their front office services and relaxing their rules to provide a more welcoming experience for guests, especially during festive times.

The front desk and cafe staff were super polite and helpful. The cafe food was tasty, and not too expensive.

Due to some construction work, there was a bit of extra noise at times, but nothing terrible.
