Chill vibe

The staff were all very helpful and we loved all the dogs and cats. There was bike rental at the accommodation for convenience. We had the bbq during a stay which was tasty. The location is a bit out of the town however we knew this when booking and it didn’t bother us.

The outside area is lovely, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately my partner got food posting eating at the hostel. We also booked a room with out aircon, only a fan, and it was insanely hot, too hot to sleep.

Yellow Star is a lovely hostel. It's got such a chill vibe - with a pool (that's not too cold), lots of places to chill out (lounge chairs, hammocks), and a sweet bar. They have a pool table, a dart board, and several board games - if you ever decide to get out of the pool. This also makes it a very family-friendly hostel, as there are plenty of things to occupy children of all ages - and its not a 'party hostel' They also have a happy hour from 4-7, where they offer up some delicious cocktails. Also, because of its location, the sky is beautiful as the sun goes down. Then the hostel takes on a different character when the lights come on. It's a little far from the main part of town - but you can rent a bicycle for $1.50 - or a motorbike for a little more. If you're looking for a chilled hostel where you can relax by the pool, read a book, and grab a bike a explore a bit of the Cambodian countryside - Yellow Star will be perfect for you

The relaxed vibe

I had a great stay at Yellow Star hostel and recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a relaxing and comfortable spot. Friendly staff and lovely furry friends to play with. The live music, happy hour and bbq were a bonus. You can hire scooters and bikes and book your onward travels. It's a short Tuktuk ride into town and the pool is well maintained and a lovely way to cool off after a day touring Kampot.

Nice place with the swimming pool, people are so friendly ! Excellent coffee & cocktail !! The room was clean, we enjoy our time here !

Rooms were big and spacious and clean. Pool was nice and lots of common area seats to hang out. Loved the 2 dogs on the property. Bicycle rental only $1 per day

Paying 50c/ 2000 riel for water refills. Seemed a bit stingey. Location isn’t ideal, about 30/40 min walk to centre, and barely any restaurants nearby. The restaurant inhouse was nice but little bit more expensive. The room was full of mosquitos…..no mosquito net Staff were pleasant, but the vibe in the hostel was just a bit off
