"An obstructed sea view! Check before you stay."

We booked a king room with a sea view. The room itself was very spacious and spotlessly clean. We had a comfy sofa and large TV for the evening. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from everything. There was private, free parking although be aware this is 10 minute walk from the property and you will need directions to find the parking space.

We specifically chose this hotel room for the sea view. Sadly, when we arrived the front of the property was covered with scaffolding, our hearts sank. We were shown to our room and I immediately brought up the scaffolding obstructing the view we had booked. The lady, who I now know is the owner, simply said, 'Well it doesn't really spoil the view and we're used to it.' I said that we should have been informed prior to our arrival so that we had the option to cancel, after all the view wasn't as advertised. She shrugged her shoulders. I repeated what I had said to the other owner who simply said, 'My brother should have told you.' I've been in contact with booking.com and the property as I feel there's been no acknowledgement that this was a real issue for us and that our money had been taken under some false pretences. It's only since booking.com have been involved that the property owners have apologised at all, and that's for 'our experience'. The owners have also said that they've had someone look at the view and it was, 'adjudged that the view itself was not severely affected.' I'm not after a full refund but some compensation offered would have been appropriate. And understanding that they, out of courtesy and professionalism should have informed us before the visit would have been a sincere response. I'm not one for writing bad reviews, but in this instance I felt it appropriate. It's such a shame, they have a decent product but once they have your money there's no care. (I must mention Sebastian, the manager, who was away when we visited, is very much more approachable but said his hands were tied regarding help). Whilst this didn't bother us I am going to mention it as feel obliged to ensure other visitors are fully informed. The king room with sea view is advertised as having a walk in shower, there's even a picture of a walk in shower however it’s a shower cubicle.

Location is great just opposite the beach. Spacious room.

The road can get noisy at times. Check in was planned to be at 1pm but couldn't get into the room until 3pm or so. Construction on the ground floor was ongoing during the time of my visit.
