"Convenient to Prestwold Hall and The Hall Barnes, but felt there was issues that need clarifying."

6.0

The property is in a very good location if you are attending celebrations at Prestwold Hall or The Hall Barnes, being just inside the gates of Prestwold Hall. The Lounge, which is a really lovely space and where the tv is located, is also where the second sofabed is situated. However once this bed is rolled out for use it is impossible to use the lounge for sitting in and relaxing or viewing the tv as the space is used up by the bed. Therefore, unfortunately this leaves just the dining room where guests can gather together around the dining table to relax. The Galley Kitchen is very nice and fully equipped with everything needed, including a large cupboard off the kitchen containing the spacious Fridge. The garden and terrace are also really lovely with nice garden furniture where you can relax. Obviously free wi fi and parking was much appreciated

It states on the website that it “offers a holiday home with two bedrooms and a living room, and family rooms provide ample space for relaxation and comfort..” However in reality there is really only one ‘private’ bedroom, the second ‘bedroom’ is actually a largish square space at the top of the staircase, which you have to walk through to get into the main bedroom. Also, those using the main bedroom have to walk through this ‘second bedroom’ if they need the toilet during the night or early morning as the bathroom, containing the shower and toilet is downstairs at the other end of the kitchen. So not a lot of privacy if offered. This space is where the double sofabed is rolled out for usage. So it isn’t really a separate bedroom, it’s just a space, because a room that requires walking through it to access another bedroom is not considered a separate bedroom in the normal sense as the generally accepted understanding is that a bedroom should have independent access as they are designed for privacy and ease of access, not as thoroughfares to other rooms. In summary, based on our experience of four adults, we used the main bedroom plus the sofabed in the lounge, but this meant the lounge was not available for use as a lounge. Our choice then left the ‘second bedroom’ available to allow privacy for both couples. The only other way the sofabed upstairs could be used realistically, is by children of parents in the main bedroom. However it is obviously a personal choice, but it is always better to be informed of the issues than not.

"Gorgeous Stay!"

9.0

Great location for attending a Wedding at Prestwold Hall. Such a cute little house. Gorgeous decor and comfortable beds with lovely bedding. Toiletries and Towels provided. Selection of Tea and Coffee and Water in the fridge. Convenient self check in. So nice to have a garden that we enjoyed whilst having dinner the night before the wedding. We loved our stay, was myself, my Daughter and Grandaughter. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay.

Liked everything! Welcome booklet says there is a dishwasher, but there isn't? Reviews said that milk was left in the fridge with the Water, unfortunately we didn't have any. No cheese grater in kitchen, and Mugs for tea and coffee would be good. Maybe supply fans for upstairs as it was quite warm. Nothing that affected our stay.

"Great little lodge"

9.0

Great little lodge. Spacious, yet cosy. Good decor which gave a luxurious feel. It also smelled amazing upon entering and was very clean. Good amenities and great location for us (we were attending a wedding at Prestwold Hall). Plenty of space for relaxing in the evening and lovely little garden area which I imagine would be perfect in summer (the husband enjoyed sitting out there relaxing in the evening and morning). Lots of nice little touches, such as various flavours of tea, coffee, milk and juices, jams, toiletries and all washing up liquid etc. Really liked that there was a dressing table and a couple of long length mirrors so we could easily get ready and check our outfits for the wedding.

Double bed was a little uncomfortable as the mattress seemed to dip in the middle. Thankfully it was just 2 of us so 1 was in the bed and the other slept on the pull out bed in the room/landing area next door, which had a nice feeling mattress. Welcome book mentioned a dishwasher but we couldn't find it. This wasn't an issue for us as we didn't eat/drink much there, but worth noting. Heating was a little high for us which made it uncomfortable at night. The above were just little niggles rather than issues and we would happily stay here again.

"Clean and Cosy lodge. Lovely little getaway"

9.0

The lodge was immaculate. It was really nice and warm when we walked in and cosy. The bed was very comfy as well. The decor for the lodge is stunning! We also loved the selection of Jam, Honey and tea/coffee! Amazing!

It’s a small thing and didn’t stop us from wanting to book but a bath would have been amazing here!

Comfortable, well located, easy check-in. Hosts supplied some missing kitchen equipment very quickly when asked.

Sheets and towels had an overpowering smell of fabric conditioner (or washing powder). I'm probably more sensitive to this than most.
