CASA MARE

The location was excellent 👌 near old town and right by a beautiful swimming beach ⛱️ Two good sized double rooms with large living room. Choice of balconies one outside both bedrooms overlooking old town, the other overlooking the sea. Kitchen adequate and good shower, plenty of hot water.

The unit was located in a part of the old town and the deck had a partial view. Easy to get to the beach, groceries, etc. There were enough bathroom towels and those were like new. The air conditioning in the main space worked very well.

The kitchen was very poorly equipped. One induction hotplate - cutlery but next to no cooking utensils (no spatula, etc.) There was no coffee or tea, and only a couple take out packets of sugar. The fridge smelled awful, though it looked clean. A few small ants in the kitchen, but this seemed isolated (and it is summer....). Coffee maker was broken (and had been for some time), but owner/host replaced it when requested. Some of the furniture is in very poor repair (a few of the chair, the coffee table, etc). Many of the drawers, storage are not for use, as they contain miscellaneous clutter. It wouldn't take a lot of money to better furnish and equip this property - hope the owners consider that as it could be a real gem. The bedrooms were generous size and the beds were comfortable. However, the bedrooms back out onto a busy corridor in the old town and because the windows don't seal/have not been modernized, you will need earplugs if you want to sleep before 11:30 pm or past 7 am. There is a lovely patio that the two bedrooms share, but it was unusable due to the amount of bird droppings on the deck and on the chairs. This back patio looks across at an old cathedral and you can view the bell-tower in the large nearby cathedral - which is quite stunning at night. The unit was not ready at check in time, so we had to wait about a half hour until they were done. Overall, not great value, but Monopoli is a neat little town to visit.

Location is perfect just on the side of the old town. Ocean and city view plus 1 minute walk to small beach. Lovely to sit in the afternoon in comfy chairs with the large windows open towards the sea view.

Info from owner before arrival could have been better. Note that there is no air conditioning in the bedroom! Only an electric fan without any instructions on how to use. Got instructions via WhatsApp. But we were not able to get the temperature below 27 degrees Celsius during the night and it is not possible to have windows open due to noise from the street (when open).

The apartment was really spacious and had lots of amenities. The location was great, a very short walk down to the beautiful beach and right on the edge of the old town. The gelato shop near the apartment was amazing! The balconies/terraces were a great spot to sit in the morning or afternoon. Highly recommend staying at this property if you are staying in Monopoli.

As noted in other reviews, the noise from the street outside the bedroom windows can be a bit loud, but it’s really not that bad

The location was excellent. The bedrooms had balconies looking onto the old town and the living room had sea views in the front of the apartment. The accommodation was modern and tastefully decorated. The owner’s sister was very sweet and made an exception to the usual contactless check in policy and kindly let us in when we arrived.

The sofas were hard and not very conducive to lounging, but they looked very chic. There was a fair bit of loud music in the old town until late at night and from church bells that rang at 7:30 every morning for long periods of time. Ear plugs would likely be a big help.
