Wonderful, friendly staff who impressively learn every guest's name very quickly and take an interest in every guest. Very comfortable beds with privacy curtains, reading lamp and power socket. Drinking water (hot & cold) is available for free, and there are cups in case you want to bring your own coffee/tea. Breakfast includes coffee & tea, and it's different each day and prepared individually as guests arrive. The area where breakfast is served is an open-fronted common area with plenty of tables and chairs, it's a nice place to read, plan etc in the fresh air, without getting rained on! The whole hostel is spotlessly clean at all times. The shower has hot water and good pressure. Trips are available to book in reception but they're not pushy. Aircon is mild, not freezing, and is on all day - staff control temperature & the dorm lights, which avoids any disputes. Location is great - close to shops, stalls, restaurants, the public bus stop and only a few minutes walk from Ubud Palace, and yet quiet. Lockers are provided - some need a lock, some don't - and towels can be rented if required. It's a really good hostel, and really great value; I extended my stay several times.

Lights go out early, not just in the dorm but in the common area too - by 10:30 I feel like everyone else is in bed so I should be, too. (Ubud is definitely an early-to-bed town, anyway). Curtains around the beds are great for privacy but don't not block.out light at all, so although it's nice to have a reading light, you can't really use it after lights-out (unless you're a terrible person) as it will illuminate the whole room

The staff makes everything feels perfect. The balinese guys who work there are excellent and treated me like a close fried. Great breakfast, I loved it!
