North Lodge Kilmun

The location was good and the apartment had a quirky charm. The main living room area was very spacious and comfortable.

The heating was a little unpredictable (radiators and underfloor heating in the shower room). Beds not very comfy, mattresses too soft for my liking. Kitchenware could do with upgrading: there was a random selection of glasses, some chipped plates and scuffed saucepans.

Interesting creative decor, comfortable beds, generous living/dining/kitchen space. Bathroom light wasn’t working but Alister got it fixed next day. The apartment is part of a former convalescent home that has been converted to a number of units. We loved the patio with lots of flowering plants and views overlooking the river.

Second bathroom is only a toilet plus washbasin. The other bathroom is a “wet room” with no enclosure for the shower.

We did have difficulty in obtaining the keys to get access to the property with email messages prior to arrival going unanswered and no answer on the phone on the day of arrival . The host did manage to call us back and get it sorted though (but were were at the point of booking into another hotel at the time). after that the host was keen to maintain contact to ensure our visit was going well.

Nice open plan apartment, tastefully furnished, all you need.

No complaints really, just to be aware that 2 of the 3 bedrooms have a step up into the rooms, which could be dodgy if you hurry in or out, not thinking and not used to it...other than that, all good for us.

A lovely place to stay, this was one of the places we stayed whilst in Scotland. Kilmun is a beautiful place with some truly amazing views, places to visit. Pucks glen was very nice. If you like quiet walks, friendly locals and a nice place to stay then it's perfect. Good sized rooms, good kitchen with all utensils etc to make good meals. A nice wood burning fire for cosy evenings. Views from the cottage are nice. Alastair was a good host and helped with ferries etc

Took a while to figure out the shower as it works on a shower pump. You have to turn on the bathroom tap at the same time to get it working. Hot water needs to be boosted in the morning if you want a shower or to wash the dishes
