The Danai

Lovely place, nicest people, amazing food and THE MAGNIFICENT SEA. Every day of our week stay we have feeled as the relaxing comes with the sun light, sea sound and pines aroma. The dinner at Squirrel is must to be done as food (thanks Grand Chef) is top and wine list (thanks Top Sommelier) is a widest with some really rare labels. Athinos restaurant will make you happier with the Greek food flavors, when the Andromeda share with the whole spectrum of Mediterranean cuisine. Suggest to staying.

Spent an amazing 10 days at The Danai this summers as a family and couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough. Beautiful, quiet location with some of the best and most attentive staff we've every experienced. Met all of our expectations and more !

We have just come back after a week staying here and it was very special. The food was the best we have had from any hotel that we have stayed at and we regularly stay at leading hotels of the world and eat in Michelin star restaurants. We are real foodies! The staff make this place, they can’t do enough for you. I have to make a special mention of Anastasia, one of the sommeliers, who was absolutely delightful and really made our holiday. We rarely go back to the same hotel twice but there is a strong possibility that we will return to this one. We stayed in an executive suite with pool and it was lovely and the pool very welcome given the heat this week! Thank you so much for a wonderful week.

In this world, of seemingly constant conflict, it is rare indeed to find a heavenly retreat awayfrom it all, if only for a short time. Upon reaching the slow moving entrance gates of Danai we felt, rather nervously, that perhaps the angels were reviewing our suitability to enter paradise. Not to worry, we were admitted as we had been the year before, for our 50th wedding anniversary holiday when we were treated like royalty instead of ordinary down to earth people. This year was no exception. We booked for the last 2 weeks in May and had wonderful weather every single day. The staff were their usual exceptional selves (are they the people who are admitted to heaven because they are always kind and attentive to everyone). Danai is a place that never rests upon its laurels. It is always improving. Hence, the gym had new state of the art equipment even though the previous equipment was fine. The spa had been completely redesigned and is magnificent. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Is it the grounds people or that this is actually how things are in heaven. I actually said to one of the owners at dinner (it's a family run resort) that if the world outside was run the way Danai is it would be a much better place. But sadly, the world outside is run by politicians. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday where all your needs are catered for, beautiful food is provided in three exceptional restaurants, a private beach immaculately cared for, where no sooner has your first foot stepped on the sand, than the ever helpful and polite beach staff are there to show you to your chosen sun lounger and behind you, elevated above the sand, is the wonderful beach bar with its friendly staff. There is also lots of equipment to enter on the sea with which we noticed parents' and children enjoy using as well as other adults. In short (sorry if this review was verbose), Danai does everything to ensure you have a wonderful time. We are looking forward to going back next year,
