Little Black Ski Chalet | Central, WiFi, Families!

Excellent location in the middle of Methven, handy to supermarket and next door to the Blue and Brown pubs - we ate in the Brown pub. Double height living space had a nice feel. Small kitchen was well equipped - had everything we needed. Off street parking was handy a couple of times but access is a little tight. Parking on the street was no bother too. Nice drive up the mountain. Both double rooms were excellent. Owner was responsive and helpful.

The chalet is a great little design but isn't well insulated. Heating is through an air-con style heat pump that blows warm air into the double height living room. Heat rises and I think mostly goes out through the roof. We found it difficult to keep the place warm.

Nice place, excellent location, good heating, kitchen facilities, outside area, smart TV, easy access, laundry facilities.

Front fence was too tall for any of us to easily reach the gate lock from the outside. Leather couch is nice but super slippery so not actually user friendly.

Blind on roof window in the upstairs double bedroom was not sufficient to block out light (broken). Couch in the living room was quite uncomfortable. Looks cool but not very comfy.

Modern and nicely decorated, very comfortable, board games for the kids & magazines. Nice outdoor space, which gets great sun - would be lovely in summer. Great Location—30-second walk to the pub! But still quiet and private. Plenty of on-street parking, as well as two parking spaces in the driveway. Lovely neighbourhood—quick 2-minute walk to the playground and centre of town—ideal. Opuke Hot Pools are a must-visit, 15-minute walk or 2-minute drive from the chalet!

Stairs might be a bit of a hazard for younger kids; there was no gate at the top of the stairs, and the kid's room door opens to the top of the stairs.

Downstairs bed a little uncomfortable.

It was quite hot in summer in the up stairs bedrooms.
