North Wood Cottage

Lovely cottage -very clean inside , comfortable beds .

Courtyard garden a total mess , this was the size of a postage stamp - weeds and garden furniture filthy - looks like an old christmas tree on table , owner sent message through night before we got there to say the gardener hadn’t arrived - not good ., thus would have taken an hour to tidy the garden up -needs some tlc out there - weather was lovely but unable to sit out late afternoon due to garden being a tip ! front of house pavement full of leaves which had been swept into a pile , windows filthy. stairs unsafe -rail finishes just before top so nowhere to grab hold of - really unsafe . Fire alarm in 2nd bedroom fell off ceiling in middle of night . Holes in headboard plastic sticky tiles in bathroom coming away from wall - no grab rail , needs a bath grip as very slippy .

Stairs need refurb, no carpet, unsafe Cottage needs lots of tlc tatty and run down. outside space full of weeds

Everything was great,from easy access of the keys to entrance of the cottage. For me I would of liked a firmer mattress but the rest 5 stars

Matters

Location was good. Bed was comfortable and the water was hot. It had all the utensils needed.

The house smelled and damp and so did our clothes after being there for a few hours. This was embarrassing as we were in the area for a celebration event and I spent the whole evening apologising for the musty smell of our clothes. As soon as we got home today, we bagged some clothes up for the dry cleaners and laundered the rest. Other things that could have made the holiday accommodations better were: - improved lighting near the dressing table - electric points near the dressing table - a place to hang coats (possibly under the stairs) - improved decor especially where there are holes in bed heads and around facilities in the kitchen ;paintwork also needs touching up) - stairs were dangerous st the top as you could not reach the banister until you were a few steps down A disappointing experience but the nauseating damp smell was the worst thing about the cottage, it really was awful!

A couple who a fond of a country cottage, this hot the nail on the head. Great little place. 30 mins drive from the spectacular waterfalls.
