Staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was great. Location was good although the staff couldn't tell us the route into town and there was no information within the hotel.

The room was ok but defintely not a luxury! Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Tea and coffee standards were poor with only just enough available. Shower was very poor, pressure non existent and as only one shower screen the floor was always wet. On arrival live music was being played and this continued until 1am.

Great atmosphere. Helpful staff. Lovely food. Warm and welcoming.

The location spot on, the decor delightful and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff exceptional. I used to live in the Morningside area so knew the perfect place to stay when visiting friends.

Unfortunately I found our room a wee bit noisy for me during the night with a constant drone of an engine and the Staff starting at 3:00 pm in the kitchen could be heard although I’m sure unintentional.

The Property is located south of Edinbrough in front of a park just off one of a main road. It's a 15 to 20 min walk away from everything. If you uber it's much faster and the fare is very reasonable. The rooms are above a pub/tavern which is very nice. No noise in the rooms from the pub either, the pub is a nice quiet atmosphere, very relaxing to have a nice drink or pint after a long day in Edinbrough. The staff is very helpful and you feel very welcomed. Rooms are nice size. Price is also reasonable. When I booked the property I didn't know what to expect but I really liked the stay and planning to come back soon. If you book this property for your next trip I would recommend to get the breakfast option, you won't regret it.

My experience was delightful honestly. Glad I didn't go with the home rental place my friends went with because they were Meh with the place while I was enjoying some good conversation and a pint at the pub. Cheers!

The rooms were fantastic, super cosy and comfy and also huge for the price. We needed to be up and out early in the morning and the staff organised a early cooked breakfast for us on both days which was really kind. Beautiful location next to the park too, we walked into town each day which was lovely. Thanks again for everything!!!

Staff are fabulous!

Everything about The Black Ivy was excellent 👌 the staff were amazing... like good friends they really looked after us THANK YOU.. they also spoilt our sausage dog Linguine rotten with treats galore which we were so appreciative of. The breakfast was delicious... I have a tiny tummy so when I asked for a smaller amount this is what I was given & I enjoyed my breakfast SO much more. Great location ..... all in all had a wonderful time . We would totally visit again (wish we were still there)
