"Primordial nature retreat in the tree canopy"

10.0

Phillip and Suzanne made me feel at home as I relaxed into a brief experience of real Tanna village life. The property is off grid and draws water from a volcanic spring. The name of the property is not an exaggeration! You can see the glow of Mount Yasur from the tree house on some nights and periodically hear the eruptions throughout the day and night. Even though you are close to the volcano, the property is set in lush gardens and experienced only a tiny bit of ash fall one morning when I was there and the wind changed.

I needed to be very careful climbing up to and down from the tree house to avoid a fall off the stairs. The tree house is a magnificent experience but it is not suitable for physically fit travellers but not suitable if you are mobility impaired or overweight. Remember In Vanuatu you are responsible for your safety - not your hosts!
