Gangu Guest House Unawatuna

Room was clean, spacious, comfortable bed and quiet. Air conditioning had mamy options, including gentle option to have a good sleep during the night and not get sick. Staff was very very helpful and flexible.

No storage for a luggage

The hotel has a good owner and good staff. They helped me buy medicine at the pharmacy and organized the transfer. Thank you, Nishshanka, owner and his son.

You need to put a brighter lamp in the room.

Although this property didn’t have any previous reviews on Booking.com it looked lovely in the photos and the location was ideal so we decided to take a chance and were glad we did. My husband myself and our daughter booked 2 deluxe rooms in this delightful property. The owner Hemanthe, his wife and son were there to greet us when we arrived. The rooms were a good size and spotlessly clean. The beds were so comfortable as were the pillows which smelt so clean and fresh. The property is tucked down a little side lane off of the main beach road so noise was minimal and yet you can can walk to the beach in minutes . We had the 2 ground floor rooms with a little terrace outside each room with comfortable chairs. There were 2 more rooms upstairs and a communal kitchen and seating area on the roof terrace. The family enquired daily if everything was satisfactory with our stay and went out of their way to arrange for our clothes to be laundered and a Taxi for us on our last day at a very reasonable price. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others and will definitely stay again next time I visit Unawatuna.

Well the mr picked me up and drove me to the hotel as the address was wrong.

After mr brought me there i found out, there are no rooms. It is guesthouse. And the photos are fake. Mr explained me,that it is mistake on Booking. After i offered myself multiple times to help, mr never took my help. So this fake hotel is staying there till today. Beware!
