"A cosy hideaway a short walk from the centre of Lewes"

8.0

It is a very compact neat little terraced house, which heated up very quickly when you turned the thermostat up. Although on the periphery of the town, Lewes is not that large so it took no time to walk into the centre. Although not advertised as such, we found resident permit visitor scratch cards that enabled us to park outside the house. We only needed it once as restrictions only apply Mon-Sat 9am to 5pm.

The kitchen could have been better equipped with pots and pans (e.g. there was no large pan for boiling water to cook pasta for more than one person). Although fine for us, visitors should be aware that the stairs are precipitously steep.

"I had a great time in this little house and was very comfortable."

8.0

N/A to breakfast. Liked the kitchen equipment. Fitted a small space very well. Excellent washing machine, toaster, cafetier, etc. Good television. Great beds. Very comfortable. Good plumbing, hot water, shower. Liked the little garden though it did need cleaning up??? Also liked the fact that a table and chairs were fitted in so that I could feed visitors occasionally. One of the chairs though has loose struts. Do check.

Staircase a bit steep for the elderly! Also I did not realise from the photos that the Loo was downstairs. Worked well this time, but I am 83 so may not work so well next year!! The floor rugs in the living room were a bit of a trial. Better quality might improve the look and use of the place. Good tele so a visitor came to watch Wimbledon with me and tripped a bit as the rugs too light for the small space. No instruction booklets for anything. Luckily did not have to use any heating as would have struggled to find the switches. Door into the cupboard with the saucepans needs a screw tightened.

"Lewes is a lovely town with loads going on. The property was adequate for my stay."

6.0

The house was well equipped, clean and warm. It served the purpose as I was exploring Lewes with a view to moving there. I'm not sure I would have felt the same if I had been on holiday.

I thought I should have heard from the host at some point - out of curtesy- as I was there for three weeks. I would have like to have found a welcoming note not a bunch of dead daffodils! I thought there were too many (cheapish) knick- knacks which may look good in the photo but were a bit of a nuisance. The top room as advertised was of no use and the ladder was dangerous to use for either older people or very young. The location was fine as it was quiet and it was close to the town centre. It was a narrow street and therefore the house had no sunlight at the front making it dark and dingy but I accept Lewis is very short of space. The courtyard was untidy.

"Great value for money"

8.0

Property was exactly as described, had everything we needed for a couple nights and was very clean. The check-in and check-out was super easy, the communication was excellent. I would stay here again

The property is small for a group of 4 people, but this was not a big deal for us.
