Roost Hostel Nikko

The location of this hostel is perfect! Only like 5min from the Tobu Nikko train station. I stayed 3 nights in the little double bed room, it was small but enough for one person. Maybe for 2 people its a bit tight. The hostel is like in an old traditionnal Japonese house I think so the walls are pretty thin, but when I stayed there the others guest were quite respectful and I had good sleeps. There is a kitchen to cook/warm up your bentos and the commun area to eat is pretty cute. I havent meet the host but I met the cleaning lady while I was there and she was so nice and super kind ! She gave me lots of good informations about Nikko, locations to visit and food to try like the Yoba Manju 😍 Really helpfull!

The bathroom is a bit weird, its quite small and there is nowhere really to hang your clothes or towel. A curtain would be nice also so not everywhere got wet after showering. At the end I only took one shower at the hostel as I went twice to the really beautiful tatoos friendly onsen in Nikko (Yashio no yu) and took my shower there while enjoying the onsen. A good idea if you are visiting and find the shower too weird to use at the hostel ;)

We stayed with three people in the four person dorm, amd it was perfect. with the couch we had our own space and were very comfortable. There was a well quipped kitchen space, free coffee and tea, and the staff were very friendly and happy to let us leave our luggage at the hostel before and after check out. The location was superb and the atmosphere was so cozy.

The building is older and a little creaky, so you do have to be conscientious about moving quiety to not disturb the other guests.

Beautiful property, well placed with lovely host. Heated blanket.

Rooms on the small side with nowhere to store luggage once in the double room. We think that the bunks had more space however.

La ubicación, el trato por mensaje del persona, todo en orden y la señora que limpiaba muy amable.

La amplitud y luz que se observa en las fotos, no corresponde a lo visto. La cama no era doble y además había una columna que la dividía. Incómodo, el lavabo, wc y ducha está en diferentes pisos. El edredón no cubría lo suficiente.
