Over Torrs Cottage

The location is really close to everything, the hiking places, railway station and grocery stores. Everything was provided from the kitchen side to the bathroom kit. The landlord was responsive and flexible, which made everything easy and comfortable for us.

We ran into some issue that we couldn't use the shower on the second because of a leak issue, otherwise it worked finely before and everything else was perfect! Also as the cottage was on the road, it was a bit noisy especially early in the morning, so it would be great if the property had better noise reduction ☺️

Nice and close to the shops and pubs takeaways cafes nice for walks lovely and peaceful needs a few little updates but nice cosy place.

Nothing really to dislike price a little high compared to some lovely cottages we've stayed in before

The location was great. Fine for a one night stay.

We weren't given a code for the internet. We asked the host a couple of questions (after being invited to) and didn't get a response until after we checked out. The mattresses were very soft, the plates were dirty and there were mouldy forks in the dishwasher.

We arrived at the property at the stated check-in time, but by then we still had not received any check-in instructions. My family and I spent hours roaming around New Mills while repeatedly trying to contact the number provided in the message sent the day before. We were only finally able to get in touch with someone at around 10pm on Friday evening. By the time we gained access to the accommodation, my two children were completely exhausted from the long journey and it was already well past their bedtime. This situation was extremely stressful and completely unacceptable. Clear check-in arrangements should have been provided well in advance, especially for families travelling with children. Another issue we found concerning was the staircase inside the property. The stairs were very steep, open on one side, and had a particularly low ceiling clearance. We bumped our heads several times while going downstairs. In our opinion, the staircase is not suitable or safe for young children, elderly guests, or anyone with mobility concerns, and this should have been made much clearer in the property description.

Great location

Dirty grill tray, no instructions for access to WiFi or how to use heating/appliances. Was not advised about the dogs not allowed upstairs rule. Lots of left over materials from renovations taking up space.

Excellent location, easy access, clean and tidy with nice, pleasing interior decs.

The only slight complaint was the lack of a coffee maker (simple cafetiere would be great)

The cleanliness of the cottage. The coffee table had smeary handprints on it, the shower door was dirty, the surround around the bathroom sink was dirty , bathroom door had dirty hand prints on.
