"Disappointed considering we paid to upgrade on a once in a lifetime trip."

We visited other hotels, the MGM Casino was the smelliest and busiest by far.

The smell. We also paid extra for a ‘strip view’ we didn’t have a strip view. We were on the 10th floor so basically a waste of £600 upgrade as our friends were on floor 11, same view, £600 less.

"Clean rooms, great staff. Parking never worked with room keys, parking garage is a 10-min walk away"

The staff are very nice and try very hard to be helpful - they tried to deal with every issue presented to them. Just not every issue was resolve-able by them - e.g. the room card never worked in the parking garage, no matter how many times they changed the room cards. Rooms are clean and spacious. AC unit is quiet and air circulation is fantastic! Toiletries are fantastic - no SLS, no parabens, no silicones, and smell very nice IF YOU WANT A FRIDGE, YOU NEED TO REQUEST IT FROM THE RECEPTION STAFF - THE ROOM HAS A MINI-BAR WITH SENSORS IN IT. IF YOU REMOVE ANYTHING FROM THE MINI-BAR, YOU WILL BE CHARGED by the computer in the fridge. ASK THE RECEPTION STAFF TO LOCK THE MINI-FRIDGE AT THE TIME OF CHECK-IN.

Parking card NEVER WORKED. Not once. MGM say that once you pay for parking you get access to other MGM parking locations on The Strip. But the room card did NOT work even ONCE - not even at the MGM Grand itself. Had to Call for Assistance every time I departed the parking lot. Had to change the room cards TWICE and both times they worked for getting into the rooms and never worked in the parking garage. $20 for parking PER NIGHT is egregious - as recently as in 2015 all parking in Vegas hotels on the strip was free. Timed how long it takes to get from the parking garage to our room in Studio Tower on the 5th floor - it's 9 minutes of walking non-stop. Takes 11 minutes to get to the pool complex from the 5th floor. The pool complex DID NOT HAVE A WORKING LAZY RIVER during out stay! The pool hours are 8AM to 7PM - 7PM IS TOO EARLY TO CLOSE THE POOL, given how it's still +39ºC in Vegas at 7PM. One of the two glasses in our room had a hairline crack in it - but the staff changed it very quickly. The view from the 5th floor room was of nothing - just seeing the roof of the lobby and the head of the State of Liberty across the street. Resort fees are EXCLUDED from the room cost. If you connect from an EU country, Booking will display the USD price WITH the resort fee - makes it easier to understand how much you're actually paying in total. But once you check your reservation on Booking.com from inside the US, they split up the cost into room rate and fees+taxes. I don't actually have a problem with the resort fees as much as I have a problem with the resort fees not being included in the total. Booking and MGM have the technical ability to do the consumer-friendly thing of showing the total amount with all the fees and taxes and they choose NOT to do it, UNLESS you're in the EU.

The one person that stood out the most was a women named Kana, she worked at are cabana on Wed. She was super helpful and very friendly. She deserves a raise for how hard she works.

How the hotel doesn’t work with booking.com, how I was over charged for a room I didn’t even get, how the prepaid parking access in and out of hotel didn’t work. How the lazy river was closed the day we were suppose to go, was booked way in advance and just found out a couple of days prior too. Hotel didn’t even refund money. This was the main purpose we stayed there. Also had to go to Mandolin Bay to use their lazy river and had to pay double, so we lost out in a lot of money.
