The Delegate Hotel

Awesome location!

Great room and location! We love the restaurant next door. Front desk agent was not welcoming and was not receptive in helping us get our preferred room. Hotel is walkable to downtown Frankfort. Second stay this year.

A BIG problem with not having on site parking, especially as it was advertised as $12 self park. When we couldn't find it I called the front desk who told me to go down the hill and across the street to the KY Historical Society parking lot. Also there is no where to drive up to the front to drop bags etc. or anyone to help you with your bags. VERY disappointing for $200 a night. Once we were in the hotel, everything was lovely, except for the train tracks that run directly behind the property (like with in feet) whistle blowing at 8 am. Our fault for not booking earlier, but we were also disappointed that when we arrived at 5:30pm the restaurant, Cypress and Oak was fully booked for the evening. This was a Tuesday night in early Oct. It did not appear that it was full of hotel guests.

The hotel was beautifully renovated in a restored button factory. Resembling Iron Works in Indianapolis, but much smaller, or Bottleworks in miniature. The on-site staff was friendly and responsive.

Beauty is only skin-deep. There is no soundproofing in the hotel. We had people in the room above ours making so much noise that it sounded like they were in the room with us. This was after 11 p.m. We called the front desk and said we weren't sure at that point if they were beside us or above us. The manager on duty immediately found the source and asked them to quiet down. They did not. We waited another 10 minutes, and my husband went down to speak personally with the manager coming on duty. The second time took care of it. Be aware that there is also no convenient parking and no easy way to transport your luggage into the hotel, since it is surrounded by steps and has no ramps. There is limited parking on the street which is short and has a steep hill, and there is an unpaved, gravel lot next to the hotel. There is also a bank parking lot behind the hotel. Even with these issues, we would have come back. However, after being offered a free night due to the noise, we were then told that since we booked through a third party, we were out of luck. They could have offered a free stay in the future, but chose not to. Because of this, we most likely will not stay there again because the owner clearly did not want to make it right.

Great room

Very cool historic hotel with a beautiful vibe. Friendly staff. Very large and clean room. Had a drink after dinner in the hotel restaurant but next time will definitely try dinner there as well. Looks amazing! Great location, parking a bit tricky but I understand they are working on that. Would definitely recommend and will stay again...

Lovely room within walking distance of eateries and shopping !

Probably one of the newest hotels on the bourbon trail. Apparently, I like new.
