Hassan Luxury Camp MERZOUGA

The staff at the camp I stayed at were great - so friendly and helpful, and I can't praise them enough. After I got moved to the correct (kind of!) tent on the second day, the one with the en suite bathroom was nicer, but still not at all what I booked/what was suggested from both the listing and the photos. The food at the camp was also great - both the dinner and breakfast was plentiful and always served with a smile.

The listing said I was booking a luxury tent with en suite private bathroom, that it would include a hot tub, complimentary free wine/champagne, a fridge, a coffee machine (as well as numerous other things). This was not the case at all. Even most of the pictures shown on the listing are from a different camp, not the one where I stayed at all. I was told water would be free with dinner, yet they charged €2 per bottle. After booking, I was given a list of all the 'optional' chargeable activities. Some of these are not optional at all, and should be included in the price quoted. The dinner at the camp for example, and the camel/4x4 to get there. When I suggested I didn't want to book the extortionate €80 tour on the middle day and an extra €30 on top of that for lunch and swimming, or the €70 quad biking at sunset (strangely only €50 if booked at the camp itself), I felt pressured to book something on the basis that I was 'taking a tent for a couple of days' On arriving at the camp I had a tent with 2 single beds in it and absolutely nothing else from the listing that I had paid for. To their credit though, the 'property lister' cancelled the booking afterwards and I was refunded at least the money paid online. If I had my 'time again' I would just book an all inclusive desert tour from Fes or Marrakesh. *Addition: After posting this review, the 'property lister' kept messaging me, telling me to remove it, despite the fact that everything in it is true. I have contacted Booking and requested that they block him from contacting me. Strangely, a couple of days later, 6 more 10/10 reviews appeared on the listing in one day, as if to 'counter' my truthful review. I think I now see why the average is so high...

Splendid location in the Sahara desert of the tented camp. We parked our car at a riad in Merzouga, from where we were picked up and drove by 4x4 to the camp. The food was one of the best we had in our whole trip and the evenings with music were very entertaining. Please mind that the 4x4, camel rides, food and anything other than the sleeping is extra that you need to pay on the spot in cash.

This is a truly incredible experience, because it is an incredible experience in the middle of the Merzouga desert. The shoes are large, equipped, clean and well decorated, the table and the desayuno were incredible, recommended the experience, much gracias to all the team.

The property looked like the pictures and the best part would be the visual sights of the desert and the stars ar night.

The staff were moody and rude. On top of that the price on booking.com is a scam as they charge you €350 at the camp. We went with our 5 month old baby, the driver to the desert drove like a maniac on the dunes with the music blaring. Once at the camp they gave rooms that were different to what we booked and they looked confused, the facilities in the room are not the same as what they say on booking.com. There was no fridge, no AC , considering it’s a luxury camp that was not great. We booked three separate rooms each with breakfast and dinner included. There was eight of us in total. They tried to give us a bottle of water between eight people, suggesting that we are all together, after some back and forth we finally got a bottle per room. Water is then charged for thereafter. They also tried to give us less food because we were together ( sat together on the same table). The sand boarding we had to figure out to do by ourself.

Great location to the eastern edge of Erg Chebbi which means that you can traverse the whole section of desert on camel back (on the way there).

Air Con, (would have been happy to pay more for this).

The Camp Is absolutely fantastic, the tend was very spacious and had all the comforts and even more than expected, very good shower and water power! Staff was super friendly, they make it super cosy also with music around the fire at night and the drive to the camp was an extra cool experience, these guys know how to drive on the dunes! Position is also amazing because it is really in between the dunes and that makes the experience really full

Everything was great; we were incredibly well received by hassan. I really liked the staff who took great care of us. The location, the view, the night, the meals, the staff. everything was excellent! A must-do.
