Closer to amnesties

We had to call the caretaker to open the gate for us

Where do I start….. This accommodation should not be listed on any platform let alone an international one. I am mostly a very easy-to-please traveller but the accommodation I had paid for this weekend was beyond a shock. I tried to get alternative accommodation for the second night but because it was the Comrades weekend every place was booked out. The walls in the apartment are all filthy. They need to be repainted. The surfaces inside the kitchen cupboards are grubby. There was no cutlery or crockery bar one fork, one chef’s knife, a saucer, a glass and a coffee cup. Other than that there were 2 plastic cups. There were no bowls or pots to cook in. We purchased a glass bowl to cook some baby potatoes for our runner. We bought two knives to butter some bread. The freezer was iced up on the base sealing in some marinade and a food label. The kitchen bin had a hole in the base. Out of courtesy to the staff we put our rubbish in a packet. The shower ceiling is covered in mould. The bedside tables are dirty. One tv remote had no batteries. TV channels very limited. I feel robbed of the R4000 I spent on this accommodation. The 4 star review is clearly false and Booking.com most certainly do not check the places they put on their site.
