HOTEL CANATA KYOTO

A lovely hotel in front of the Nijo-Jo Castle, very curated without being too big and crowded like many other big chains - the position is within walking distance from the main central aereas of Kyoto and the close station helps for longer trips via metro.

Friendly staff, has welcome drinks, has partnered with luggage service that will pick up your luggage and bring them to your next hotel or to the airport. Bed is comfortable and the room is dark.

The room is not very clean; it's not dirty by any means but you can see water stains in the bathroom. Also the room is dark, and the lighting is too dim. Hard to see even during the day. A lot of articles mentioned they use Aesop products but our room was not. I thought they switched out Aesop but saw Aesop bottles on the cleaning crew's cart the morning we checked out. Not sure if it's because we booked the cheaper room, but feel like false advertisement or different treatments.

The room was really spacious and the bed was really comfortable, location is very convenient too!

There is no laundry room but there is a nearby laundromat available .

There is no prime location in Kyoto, because the sights are in different parts of Kyoto. Room was large. Bathroom was comfortable.

There was bed smell coming from the sink.

The room was confortable and the location close to train stations.

The rooms are bigger than usual in Japan. Everything feels new and in top shape. The staff is very helpful.

The view of the castle is only for suite rooms. The photos on the site are misleading since they only show that view, letting you think all rooms have that.
