Riva House Catania by Wonderful Italy

Vriendelijke ontvangst door Daria. Op wandelafstand is de metro waardoor je makkelijk naar het centrum, het station e.a geraakt.

The apartment was spacious, had everything you might need for a short stay. 4 large bedrooms 2 full bathrooms and one toilet. Location is ok depending what you are looking for, it’s a 25-30 minute walk to the old town but you pass trough a nice shopping area.

This apartment is an exercise of how important double window glazing is. The noise from outside was constant, from the street noise to the trash collection early in the morning and the forklift for arrival of goods to the market in the next building. Also the smell coming from the drain in one of the bathrooms was not pleasant.

A lot of space for everyone. Convenient for 8 people.

We were very impressed with the space and the loving care that went into the decoration and style of the apartment. The neighbours were friendly, the shops were close by. It was perfect. We felt like princesses.

Riva House Catania was beyond all expectations! It's a very beautiful apartment that is also beautifully furnished and decorated. In addition, it is large and spacious, in fact much larger than you get the impression from the photos. The apartment has several balconies and there is balcony-access from all bedrooms, as well as from both the living room and the dining room. We were 2 families with teenage kids (7 people in total) and there was plenty of space in the four large bedrooms. All the beds were comfortable to sleep in and it was well-functioning air conditioning in all four bedrooms, which is absolutely necessary when the night temperature is +/- 25 degrees celsius. With 3 toilets, two of which had showers, there wasn't much of a toilet/shower queue even though we were seven people. Also very convenient with washing machine and tumble dryer in the apartment, plus the drying racks at the balcony. Parking our two cars in the street was no problem. We had one breakfast and one dinner in the apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and it was very nice to eat all of us together in the beautiful dining room. The other meals we ate in very good restaurants, and there is plenty of them in the area. A visit (and a drink or a granita or a pastry) at Caffé Europa is a must, as is a catanian «seltz limone e sale» at Chiosco Aquileia only around the corner from the apartment. Very convenient with such a good and large grocery store (Maxistore Deco) in the same block. Etnaland was our teenagers Top10, but they also enjoyed clothes shopping in Corso Italia and all the surrounding streets. I recommend catching both the sunrise and the moonrise from Lungomare di Catania (and if you're lucky, the moon is red like in Claudio Villa's beautiful song ‘Luna Rossa’ as it rises up from the sea).

Riva House non è semplicemente una struttura ricettiva: è un luogo che racconta una storia, quella di una famiglia e, soprattutto, di una casa che ha saputo attraversare il tempo senza perdere la propria anima. La magione della nonna, oggi amorevolmente curata da Daria, conserva intatto il suo carattere originario. La ristrutturazione, conclusa da circa due anni e mezzo, è stata fatta con grande sensibilità e rispetto: nulla è stato stravolto, tutto è stato valorizzato. Gli ambienti mantengono lo stile autentico della casa, arricchito da comfort moderni che la rendono accogliente e funzionale, senza mai risultare freddi o impersonali. Gli spazi sono comodi, puliti, ordinati e signorili. Ogni dettaglio trasmette cura, equilibrio e attenzione, facendo sentire l’ospite non semplicemente accolto, ma davvero a casa. È il tipo di luogo in cui si percepisce subito un’ospitalità sincera, fatta di gesti semplici e autentici. Un ringraziamento speciale va a Daria, padrona di casa attenta, gentile e presente, capace di far sentire ogni ospite parte di qualcosa di più grande di un semplice soggiorno. Trascorrere qui il Capodanno è stato un privilegio: un’esperienza intima, calda e piena di significato. Da sottolineare anche l’ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, che rende Riva House una scelta eccellente per chi cerca a Catania non solo un alloggio, ma un luogo con identità, memoria e cuore. Riva House è una casa che accoglie, racconta e resta nel ricordo. Un posto in cui tornare.
