Escape Beach Cottage in Dwarskersbos

The house is right on the beach and has a bunch of really fun features (swings, sauna, TV room, swings). Great book selection, well laid out.

The photos is what captured my eyes but when I was there, the house looked different. Roof was leaking, the fire place and braaing area left is coughing and left our smelling of smoke.

One of the bedrooms with its ensuite bathroom can only be accessed from the outside. If it rains, the stairs get wet, so you’ll get wet going to the room. You can also reach it from the second floor near the entertainment area, but rain causes puddles there, so your shoes—and likely you—will get soaked. The house wasn’t as clean as expected. The bedrooms and bathrooms were fine, but the windows hadn’t been cleaned in a while, and the kitchen cupboards and windows were also dirty. The house also needs some maintenance. The outside braai caused smoke to be pulled into the house through the fireplace, filling the house with smoke. The indoor braai also didn’t ventilate properly, so smoke built up inside as well. we had to use the small braai on the stoep.

The location is exceptional - directly facing a beautiful unspoilt beach. The house is very spacious. Views are wonderful. We loved it.

Self catering. Location is on the beach and absolutely perfect to enjoy a coastal experience..
