Good spacious Room but No hot water facility

The room was very spacious and the location is very central. Wi-Fi was good and price was fair. The score I gave is very much connected to the friendliness shown by the hotelier. He was promptly responding to my messages for the organization prior to my arrival and once there he also helped me to avoid frauds and scams perpetuated by local tuk tuk drivers, who made him reasonably very ashamed when he saw their misbehaviour. I truly warn fellow travellers: use public transport in Sri Lanka! Public transport is cheap, efficient and perfectly safe even at night (you will be positively surprised). By contrary, do not ever attempt to hire a taxi or use Uber (it is the only Country in the world where I found problems with Uber). Uber drivers pick your call without even looking at the price, method of payment (if you selected card via App or cash) and even route. With the help of the hotelier who reprimanded the driver, we got a deal, but it made me feel very unease. Additionally, at the end of the ride the driver tried to ask me more, but I stomped my foot and it went as agreed, still I felt unease again (I paid in front of the new hotelier, who was honest and friendly). The general population in Sri Lanka is really nice and on public bus I had good chats with locals (a plus for using public transport), but really avoid taxi and even Uber!

The room was very noisy due to traffic that starts very early in the morning in the street in front of my room. There was no hot water in the toilet. The receptionist welcomed me when I arrived by bus at half past midnight because I was able to tell him in advance that I would have arrived late. Not always the arrival time is predicable for travellers, therefore it is a problem if you do not find anyone always there.

nice structure, excellent for socializing, having a large terrace with neighboring rooms and large internal spaces. exceptionally nice and helpful staff.
