"I was double charged. The agent could not find the booking in the system, opted to make a new one"

We were charged double. Initial reservation was made through booking.com. However, upon check-in, the front desk did not find the booking and made another direct reservation, and cash payment was collected. The card attached to the booking reservation was charged as well.
