SM Beach Residence

Everything was much better than I thought. The house was newly renovated, close to the sea, with a fantastic view. Milica, the owner, was available for every need we had.

Nothing that is positive about this place can outweigh the horrendous treatment we got

I don’t even know where to start… 1. This was one of the worst accommodation experiences in my life. I highly recommend against staying here. Lazy, unhelpful, rude and self-important. 2. First of all, prior to our arrival absolutely no one contacted us to confirm anything via the booking inbox. I had to insist on getting an answer and call them every time I needed something. There are no instructions provided as to how to recognise the driveway from the street. There was no one meeting us when we arrived, although just a couple of hours before that I said we will arrive at 2 pm sharp and got a confirmation. We arrived and had to wait in the heat for someone to pay attention to us. The cleaning woman who came to meet us eventually looked like she has no idea what is going on. 3. The manager who came to pick up the money the next day acted like he did not know that children under 12 do not pay a tourist tax and wanted to charge us 30 eur instead of 20. Obviously, they were supposed to inform us that in spite of the booking.com automatic calculation of the tourist tax for 3 adults, we only had to pay for 2 adults. This is what always happened in other apartments,but not here with these stingy people hungry for every extra euro! 4. The apartments are located above a low-quality tavern “SM Konoba” (same name as SM apartment so probably the same owners - and it was suspicious that several times they tried to underline that these are separate businesses). The tavern has no proper ventilation, so all the smell from old oil and bad fried fish goes in waves into the apartments, especially those with windows located above the “kitchen” (where the conditions are so bad that I saw workers lying down on the floor to rest! They don’t even have any space to have a normal rest, and they look tired, irritated and generally unhappy). Very unpleasant right from the start, given that it was not too hot anymore and we wanted to keep the windows open. 5.

The apartment is completely new, tastefully decorated and amazingly clean. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils, and there's lots of space. A really good place you can make feel like home immediately.
