Diamond Vault Rustic Mountain Cabins

The perfect place to stay in hogback if you like the forest and nature. We had the bigger cabin and it was so comfy and had everything we needed and more. No need to worry about loadsheddibg because the cabin has a solar system setup. The beds have electric blankets if it gets realy cold. You can take a walk down to the river and explore the woods that are just to stunning to describe, you can even pack a picnic basket, its well worth it. We cooked most of our meals in the fire pit but there is an electric stove, microwave and it has a fridge and freezer as well as a electric kettle and perculator(manual) that you can use. The water is heated by a "donkey" but it was very easy to operate and the water got warm within 5min for a shower. It really us well worth it, you wount regret it!

The location was lovely, if your looking for an experience in the woods with tall trees, chickens, birds, pigs this is the place for you. The owner was very accommodating. The hikes there are beautiful and your animal babies are so very welcomed in the place, The fire pit was my favorite for sure.

My mom was happy with the bed in the room but the couches that fold out into beds were very hard to sleep on, it was not comfortable at all. I didn't have much sleep neither my partner as we gave the room to our mom. The donkey had to be kept fired up but as we left early the next morning we had cold water as it was too cold to put fire in the donkey for hot water.

I loved our trip to Hogsback, and having an amazing place to stay was what made it all that. From the very moment you step on the grounds, you are greeted by the owner. Morne was warm, welcoming, and very helpful. He was friendly and quick to jump when needed. The cabin was very spacious and comfortable with everything you need and more. For those who love furry friends, there were two cute and welcoming dogs on the property as well. All in all, it was a great stay and I would recommend it.

- it's a quiet and remote location which was really nice. (We got upgraded to the snowlflake cabin) - Host was very welcoming and prepared bunch of firewood which was really cool - Option to have a bon fire/ braai was really nice

-the photos on booking.com aren't helpful with trying to figure out which cabin one is actually booking. We ended up staying in the one we hoped for but I think we actually booked the cabin close to the street - Parotts could have more toys to occupy them inside their enclosure and more fresh vegetables and fruit in their diet
