River Farm Retreat

The house was excellent and there were lots of lovely touches like fresh eggs and honey. Also fresh flowers in different spots in the house. It was so clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely walk down to the river, taking Trixie the Jack Russell with us. That wasn't deliberate. Comfortable and miles from anywhere which suits us just fine. Would warmly recommend this to anyone. Nice touch of home made goodies in the kitchen.

Lovely and quiet. Great farm setting. Suited our group of 5 ladies for a weekend of golf ⛳️

We had a great stay at River Farm Retreat. The place was really clean, comfy, and had plenty of space for everyone. The location was perfect for our rafting trip at Awastone, and we loved the beautiful walk nearby too. Everything was well set up and made for a really easy, relaxing stay. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely place to stay. Great views of the countryside, no noise from trains or main road. Farm operating so you hear stock and birds. Hosts have fully equipped the house - even has an air fryer. Water is tank water so don't leave taps running, septic tank so usual rules apply, hot water is great but not unlimited... just loved staying there 2 nights in March. Comfy beds, warm, spotlessly clean older former farm house. For this city slicker it was like staying with my cousins on their sharemilking place outside Dannevirke many moons ago. Thank you Liz and Bryan.

This older farmhouse is spacious, very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The hosts provided complementary local produce, which felt very welcoming. There was plenty of room for family members to park. The rural outlook and views of the Rangititkei cliffs contributed to a relaxing stay. The location was perfect for outdoor activities in and around Mangaweka.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Lovely suroundings

Bed very hard. Needs the fooring tidied up. House generally roomy and very clean but needs a bit more work. Would be a great place for a family, or for someone just wanting a quiet gatawawy
