Perfect for a relaxing stay with family. We stayed in the Woodpecker and 'Nilgiri Pipit' rooms of Teanest Nightingale Annex. The rooms are spotless, spacious and very cosy. The Nilgiri Pipit room especially is massive, featuring a climb-up loft and additional bed, comfortably housing 4 people. View is absolutely gorgeous from the top rooms of the Annex, since it is located at a higher elevation than the other rooms. We did not have a balcony, although it wasn't a big drawback as the windows can be opened. Beds are very comfortable. Rooms are non smoking and pets are not allowed. Service: simply superb. These guys seem to have perfected hospitality, and our needs at the Annex were catered to by the two gentlemen Mr Rajnikanth and Manikandan. They would listen to every request keenly and provide a quick service. Hats off to Mr Rajnikanth and team for the excellent service and I believe this is the highlight of my stay. Food was another thing I should mention. Delicious, lip smacking dishes made fresh to order. Just make sure you communicate your order in advance for lunch and dinner and it's served hot. If you are vegetarian I highly recommend the dishes like sambar, dal, poriyal, paneer butter masala and the soft phulkas. They even made us fruit bowls upon request as my parents were on a diet. We loved the generous breakfast of south Indian fair like Idlis, Pongal, Pooris and freshly made to order Dosas, Omelettes and Aloo Parathas. Things to do: Well, since Teanest is located inside an estate, in the mornings they have estate walks and bird watching at 6 AM. However, apart from Kodanad estate, the area doesn't really have many attractions. But I feel that's a good thing for couples and families simply looking to relax and unwind in the cool climate and beautiful views. We spent most of our time playing cards in the common area, board games, badminton or simply lounging in the hammocks and looking out at the rolling hills.

The booking process and demand for an advance when you given card details, the telecaller was like in a funeral home, the switches didn't work properly, the lights kept fluctuating, BF service was efficient but was like a college canteen, you felt they were doing you a favor, and last of all the advance paid didn't reflect in the bill and we had to show proof to get payment confirmed The image shown was an old bunglow, but accommodation was in the annex. Please be honest Staff certainly need training..
