Most Desirable Penthouse in Reykjavík

Very modern and spacious. The location was excellent for everything we wanted to see and do. The building was safe and secure. The amenities (especially the washer and dryer) enabled us to pack lighter.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Most Desirable Penthouse! The host was very helpful and always replied promptly to any inquiry, from the time we booked through the duration of our stay. The check-in instructions were clear and comprehensive. While on the 4th floor, the elevator was quick and had enough room for five people and luggage, and the stairway was wide and clean. The apartment is beautifully furnished, clean, bright, and all fixtures and furnishings look brand new. All the large windows have heavy curtains to darken the rooms when needed. The space was more than ample for 5 people for a week--two people in each of the 2 separate bedrooms and one in the double bed in the nook by the balcony near the dining area. The location a couple blocks away from major streets minimized road and pedestrian noise, particularly at night--inside the apartment was very quiet. Otherwise, the location was just a couple blocks from Ingólfur Square in one direction and the Skólavörðustígur Rainbow Street in the other. Bus tours were easily accessible from either Bus Stop #6 or Bus Stop #3, both of which were just a couple blocks away. We will absolutely consider another stay when we plan our return to Iceland!

Beware - read description very carefully. This is NOT a 3 bedroom property as described. It is a 2 bedroom property with a third bed in the open plan lounge area. It was difficult to sleep in the open plan area on the first night as there was no curtains on the windows and you were overlooked by other apartments. Curtains were thankfully provided for the next 2 nights when we asked for them; shame they weren’t there from the start of our stay. Communication was poor. We were unable to access the property on arrival as we were given the incorrect access information (wrong entry door into block and wrong code). It took us around 20 minutes to access the property after lots of phone calls at our own expense. The following day we were locked out again as the code changed and we were not advised. For a luxury apartment we expected better communication and service.

The location was within easy walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see in town. Our vehicle fit in the garage and the large windows were a bonus. The unit was very clean and the instructions for using appliances was clear. We will book this unit for our next visit. The value was good by Icelandic standards, being a stand alone island makes prices higher than mainland US. Having a washer and dryer was great, they both worked well. *note parking was extra.

Slight lag in communication but nothing extreme.

The most desirable penthouse in Reykjavik is amazing! We were able to walk to all of the attractions as they were within a mile of the penthouse. The penthouse was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. Communication with the host was easy, timely and efficient. My family and I highly recommend a stay at the most desirable penthouse in Reykjavík!
