TownePlace Suites by Marriott Altoona

New. Clean. Excellent fitness room. The entrance is difficult, even dangerous to turn into. Located right beside VA hospital. Travel to Altoona 3 times a year, will be staying there from now on.

I stayed here for 3 nights while in town on business. The hotel is newer, and stylishly decorated. The suite was small, but comfortable. The hotel is very quiet, and my room was immaculately clean. Internet is fast and reliable. Bed is superb. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to the area. In addition, the price for the quality of the stay is excellent.

A hotel with excellent amenities both outdoor and indoor. Nice indoor pool and exercise room. With fire pits and fireplaces the hotel was very cozy. Very convenient to dining options. The free breakfast was very good.

I was in town for a wedding last weekend and I didn't want to stay at the hotel where the wedding group was booked so I booked a room here instead. I arrived about an hour early and they were kind enough to allow me to check-in. The front desk lady was very kind and got me checked in quickly (I forgot to look at her name tag). The room was spacious and very clean. I didn't check out any of the amenities, but they all looked very nice. The property is a few years old now I believe but it's been kept up wonderfully. I was very happy with this stay and would highly recommend this location to anyone traveling through the area.

We ended up staying at the hotel for two months (it's a long story). The staff is unmatched. Anything they could do for you was done immediately. Any problems were fixed immediately. The free breakfast is awesome, with a lot of great choices. All I can say is to STAY HERE if you need a hotel in Altoona.

This was a great property. Loved the kitchen and the bathroom was also very clean and modern.

Stayed at the Towneplace Suites as a last minute time away stay. Wanted to relax and have some peace and quiet alone time and this definitely did the trick. Had I arrived earlier I would have taken advantage of the pool. It looked so inviting. The room was superb with lots of room and lots of places to relax. The breakfast was fabulous! From the cold cereal, yogurt, breads and oatmeal to the eggs, sausage and waffles; there was something for everyone. There was also coffee, tea, hot cocoa and multiple juice choices.

Loved the cleanliness and modern look to much of the property - especially the room.

You expect great things from a Marriott. and this was disappointing. It seems that there had been water damage to the flooring in our kitchen area that had been patched in one small spot, but not addressed at all in others. The edges of the vinyl plank flooring were raised and right across where you walk to enter the suite. Well -- my sandal caught on a spot where the flooring was lifted, and I almost fell. Thankfully I caught myself or this could have been a catastrophe. Why was this floor not addressed and fixed before I reported it ? Although an apology was made to me, it did not make up for the lack of attention to this safety issue. I know that others had remarked about the cleanliness of the room. Ours was not great either, but tolerable. The staff seemed nice enough, but that is not the only reason to stay at a Marriott. I reported the floor issue to the desk, and then filled out a comment card so hopefully the flooring in suite 334 was fixed. If you get this room look down as soon as you enter. The floor is dark colored so you might not notice until you fall over it.

Amazing how you can grill right on the premises. Beautiful furniture and gorgeous rooms. Very spacious and modern. They supply all necessary utensils for grilling. All you need is the food. And fire place, amazing.
