Tranquil Retreat in Bicester

Plenty of room in the kitchen and dinning area. Which enable our party of 9 to prepare and enjoy a meal together. The place was clean it was decorated for Christmas and there was plenty crockery.

The place was clean, but on arrival, the smell of the institutional cleaning fluid used it was overwhelming. Even opening all outside doors and windows, it never really went away. It only served to let out the warmth. I have asthma, and I needed to use my inhalers throughout my stay. In the kitchen, there was no plug in the sink or washing up bowl. There was no towel or drying cloth in the kitchen. Not everything can go in the dishwasher, and when you are a bigger party, being able to hand wash items is essential. There was no comfort in the lounge for us to sit together. Everything about the lounge is for display and decoration. The furniture is not practical nor comfortable. The beds all need the investment of new mattresses. There is no comfort, I was glad I only had one night to endure. Even the younger members of our 3 generation party complained about the bed. The house was decorated for Christmas, with outside lights which are set on a timer. They woke everyone up at 5am, flashing away brightly. The curtains on the windows are not adequate to keep normal morning lightout, so were not able keep the flashing lights out.

Good location, lovely & spacious. Well stocked with all you could need. Previous people had left handy bits we had forgotten.

Furniture in living room very hard & uncomfortable. Downstairs bathroom, no mat to stop slips on wet floor. Upstairs bathroom grime marks left in bath. No plug in kitchen sink for quick washing up. Couldn't find any teatowels so had to buy some.

It was a lovely house, good parking, so big and comfortable to stay in, perfect to house me and my bridesmaids the night before my wedding. There was no noise from roads. Easy to get into the property, check in and check out times were reasonable. Can definitely house up to 10 people so such a good please for multiple people!

The house was easy to locate.. in a quiet location but close to shops cash point machine and pub which we visited for evening meal which was reasonable, very enjoyable and two minutes walk from the house. One of our guests was in a wheelchair and the house was wheelchair friendly with ground floor bedroom shower and wc along with lounge kitchen and garden. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need and plenty of room to entertain a large groupwashing machine and tumble dryer very useful and easy to use, as was the dish washer and cooker. Large garden with furniture which was enjoyable to sit in and watch the resident hedgehog scurry about in the early evening. Bedrooms were nicely decorated and beds were very comfortable. All of our party complimented the rooms they stayed in and the USB points in the bedside lamps were also very useful. The entire property was well maintained and extremely clean. I would highly recommend this property.

The only thing I can think of was the squeaky floorboard outside the upstairs bathroom, not a problem in the daytime. Bit if you need to use the wc in the night can be annoying for those who are trying to sleep. But in my opinion it just gives chatacture to the property.

Very clean, few essentials like tea bags available, comfortable with well equipped kitchen and outdoor space. Easy arrival and departure, perfect location for a meet up with friends from different parts of the country. Tesco 2 minutes walk for any essentials.

Few more towels and tea towels would have been good.
