GBLakeview Balcony is a comfortable and very restful place in a charming and restful city, Kastoria, beautifully spread alongside a mountain lake. The facilities were clean and easy to use, the terrace (upon which there was a bed for use in the good outdoor months) had striking views (telescope also provided!), and the bed was super-comfortable. Ivan, who greeted me, was a kind and attentive host, clearly keen to ensure I was getting on fine during what was a 4-night stay. He arranged transportation at the beginning & end of my trip, to assist with onward travel.
The geography of Kastoria is intricate. Much of the historic town is on two sides of a promentory that juts into the lake. The apartment lies just above the north shore and and it takes 15 minutes to walk along it to reach the town. An other route is over the ridge of the promentory - to get to the other side, this way, where the main restaurants and other amenities are located, a map (however rudimentary) might have helped (due to the sometimes complicated) lay-out of the streets.
