Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel

The overall design of the hotel was fine. They pack a lot into a small footprint with a nice pool, loungers, bar, restaurant, spa, yoga studio etc. Staff are very friendly and rooms are a decent size. I like the mission of the community and education focused nature of the hotel.

Its billed as "ethical luxury" but I felt that the mission of the hotel (supporting of education of the tourism sector in the local community) was used to cut corners. The staff were friendly and wanted to help, but were not very efficient and helpful with requests (training issues?). Speed was slow, food and drink was average. We stayed 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned at all in that time (environmental reasons?).

There needs to be a management presence and the staff need to be given more information and basic tools such as maps of Angkor to give to guests.
