Avasta Resort Wijaya Leisure

It seems that the Avasta resort has been taken over by new management and improvements are being made all the time. The first room we were assigned seemed to have some problems with damp, so we asked for a change. The new room was large, clean and freshly painted. The bathroom was fine too, though the hot water never really worked. The best part of the resort is the garden with its lotus ponds, mango trees and resident birds and squirrels. The swimming pool is quite large, and a great place from which to observe the peaceful garden, though it needs a bit of a make-over due to some loose tiles. The Sri Lankan breakfast is generous and extremely tasty. Moreover, the distance to both the historic monuments and the train station is short, making this a very convenient place for sightseeing.

The resort has great potential and with a little more maintenance, such as improvement of the pool and former spa area, it will be an even better place in the future. Overall, having travelled around Sri Lanka for one month, we consider this place great value for money.

Absolute gem of a place to stay at anuradhapura. The extremely attentive staff lead by the loveliest hotel manager is exceptional. They attended to all our needs without any hesitation. Probably the best hotel to stay at when you’re in anuradhapura. Also the value for your money is extremely good.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike at Avasta resorts. Everything is more than worthy for the price you pay at Avasta. Specially the serene villas.

It is quite easy to find your way to the hotel from its position. The staff's politeness and the hotel's cleanliness are both excellent.

At night, there are no security guards on duty at the main gate.
