HideWay Guest House Midigama

I had such a beautiful stay here and can wholeheartedly recommend this homestay. The room was lovely and very comfortable, and I really appreciated having hot water, such a nice extra that made everything even more relaxing. What truly made this experience special was the family. They were incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming from the very first moment. Sometimes they would randomly bring me a fresh coconut or some fruit, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. Their daughters are also so lovely, and the whole atmosphere felt warm, genuine, and homey. It wasn’t just accommodation, it felt like being welcomed into a family. Overall, this was a really special experience for me, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.

I stayed for 2 weeks in this room some months ago, and came back for one night yesterday when passing by. The room is very clean and comfy, there is everything you need. They can also provide dinner and breakfast for a good price. We had amazing curries and snacks ! It is located close to a beach called wild beach (where you can find a good restaurant, wild beach cafe) and 15min by walk from Midigama center. There is also some nice walks or bicycles ride to do around the house in the middle of the nature. A bus is passing by next to the house that deserve every cities or surf spots on the coast. Tuktuks are also easy to find there. Samil and his family were very welcoming, they gave us good advices about what to do around. They are all super nice and caring, and very reactive. We had good chats together. I will come back for sure.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the lovely family who runs this accommodation. The rooms are very spacious with plenty of space to store your bags and belongings, and our bed was comfortable. There is also a spacious shared area where you can have some food or drinks. What truly set out experience apart was the genuine kindness by the family. Not only did they ensure our comfort during our stay, but they also went above and beyond by teaching us how to cook traditional Sri Lankan food. The cooking classes made our stay even better, giving us memories and new cooking skills. Although we only booked one night through booking.com, we stayed at this place for one month in total. (They only recently put it online as they were still working on some things when we stayed there) 100% recommend this place. If you are looking for a spacious accommodation at a prime location, look no further.
