Unacceptable Conditions – Dark, Damp Basement & Insecure Door I checked out early despite still having one night prepaid because the room’s condition was intolerable: -Dark, damp basement access: The room opens directly (with no physical separation of any kind) onto a gloomy, humid cellar that was not disclosed in the listing and not shown clearly in the photos — there is only one misleading picture that does not reflect reality at all. Moreover, the constant musty smell seeped into the room and made us feel deeply uncomfortable. -Unsecured rear bathroom door: The door behind the bathroom leads to a communal area, cannot be locked, and can be easily accessed by anyone. This is a serious security hazard and completely unacceptable. In addition to these unacceptable issues: -Poor bedding: The “double bed” was simply two thin, hard mattresses placed side by side on a flimsy frame, with flat, uncomfortable pillows. -No window coverings: A large window had no blinds or curtains, so bright daylight flooded the room at 5:30 AM, making sleep impossible. -Terrible host service: On top of all this, the owner’s attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, showing no willingness to resolve any of these serious problems. These conditions fall far below basic standards of safety, comfort, and honesty in advertising. I strongly suggest you find another place to stay in Lecce — it’ll spare you an unpleasant surprise

The suite is nicely renovated and is in a central yet quiet location in the old town. It was very clean and had access to a shared kitchen area with a fridge & coffee machine. Coffee freely available.

There is no parking in old town so you must walk from a car park outside old town if you have a car. The owner recommended a car park, which is an 8-10 min walk and costs €20 for 24 hrs or overnight. You must reserve a few days beforehand. It's an outdoor car park. We parked one night there, but first night we parked in a modern underground one called Parkejoo .- 11 /12 min walk. €25 . Better because car was cool on return & not much difference in distance.

The apartment is very spacious, but unfortunately not very clean. There was a strong smell of mold in the bedroom, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. It’s also quite a walk to reach the property, as not all cars can access the area directly—and the host didn’t offer much assistance, especially with the language barrier. No drinking water was provided, and the shower had very low water pressure. The place overall felt a bit run-down and poorly maintained. While the overall experience was okay, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again
