Hôtel Riad Airport Marrakech

The place was spacious, clean and nicely decorated in traditional style. The hotel is quite a long way from the Marrakesh city centre with taxi (Uber) rides costing about 100dirhams each way. There is a petrol station, supermarket and foodcourt about 15 minutes away on foot, but the area is quite run-down win large open spaces and half-built houses. I would not want to walk around after dark.

Staff were inexperienced as Eleanor and her team had only just taken over from the previous owner. The card machine was not working so we had to find quite large amounts of cash with 24 hours of arriving. Fortunately, Eleanor accepted Euros, Pounds Sterling as well as Dirhams. The breakfast was meagre and service was very slow. Anything cooked is charged extra. On the last day the bread was dry and almost stale, with regular prompting needed for butter and more bread.

The bed was very comfy. Location is good, you can reach the old town by taxi in about 15-20 mins. Receptionist was friendly.

We stayed here in December and the room was ice cold. It took us one day to somewhat heat it up with the AC. In the breakfast hall, you need to sit in coats. In winter it's ice cold everywhere inside the building - though we also arrived after weeks of rain and lower temperatures in Marrakesh and on the 3rd day the temperature in the room finally got higher and we didn't need that much AC. We paid for the breakfast but only had it on the 1st day since it only consists of carbohydrates/pastries and we are gluten intolerant. You can also ask for fresh orange juice and fruit, but that's it. Coffee was bad. In general, the facilities are not good. The photos look much better than the hotel and the rooms in reality. It would be nice to have a table or chair in the room. With some improvement it could be a more decent hotel and a better value for money. You only get a room key so every time you leave the property and then want to enter again you need to ring the bell. We didn't understand why they don't give a separate key for the entrance. There is spa and hammam but we didn't get to use it so I'm not able to rate that. All in all, it wasn't that bad of an experience but not very comfortable.

Excellent séjour grâce à la propreté irréprochable et l'espace des chambres. L'architecture locale est magnifique et parfaitement intégrée dans la verdure. Le staff est vraiment top et très à l’écoute.

Emplacement un peu loin du centre-ville. Dépendance totale aux taxis dont les tarifs sont excessifs, même via inDrive, comparativement à des villes comme Rabat, Casa ou Tanger. Un budget transport important est à prévoir.

Die Unterkunft hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Nähe zum Flughafen und sich relativ ruhig. Das Haus ist ineinander sehr guten Zustand. Zur Begrüßung gab es Tee. Das Frühstück war auch (wie immer in Marokko) sehr lecker. Wir waren zwei Tage dort und sind u.a. Auch zum Jardin Anima mit einem Taxi rausgefahren. (hin und zurück 60 Euro) Wir haben jeden Tag ein leckeres Essen serviert bekommen (1 h Vorlaufzeit braucht die Küche, weil es frisch gemacht.wird. Taxi zum Flughafen wurde organisiert

The only thing that was good was location near the airport. Communication through booking.com was good, we went to the hotel the day before to show my dad where the hotel was and to ask to print the boarding cards. The hotel was very accommodating before the stay, on the day of check in everything changed and was terrible.

1. We paid in advance for my elderly dad and my young nephew to stay there as they were staying one more night. When they arrived the hotel demanded and charged 100euro for the room. When I complained I was told “lady you sort it out with booking.com” and reception refused to speak to me but were happy to speak to my husband… I felt discriminated as I was the paying customer and it was my dad not my husbands 2. I agreed early check in in advance and nobody mentioned or discussed any extra charge, no extra charges listed on booking.com but when my dad arrived the hotel demanded extra 50euros. I said that my dad will comeback at 2pm rather the paying extra for early check in, which caused the hotel staff to be even more abrupt and they said the charge had to be paid anyway hotel. 3. Booking.com customer service were great as they sorted it for me and reception gave back 100euro 4. My dad and nephew were left with no bedding or blankets till I told them to go and ask for them 5. If my dad wasn’t able to get hold of me to sort things out and had no money as this was his last day they would probably had to sleep on the streets or at the airport Totally unacceptable and disgraceful attitude of the hotel staff. It wasn’t my problem they didn’t know how to obtain their money from booking.com, judging by the amount of reviews on booking.com there have been a lot of people staying and probably paying in advance so there is no excuse for this and saying “lady you sort it out” when I was 5mins away from boarding the plane sick worried about my elderly dad and young nephew disgusting.
