Grand Baie Seaview Penthouse-direct on beach

Location was perfect, right next to the beach and in the vicinity of restaurants, diving centres, supermarket, etc. Easy check in instructions and the best about the place is the terrace overlooking the bay.

The location could not be better! Right on the beach and in the centre of Grand Baie.

The apartment below was being renovated... lots of noise - but this started at 9am each day, so can't complain that it was too early... the motorbike noise from the main road at night, was sometimes a bit distracting, but u couldn't hear it on the patio - where we spent most of our time at night.

The property was very comfortable, clean and extremely well presented. But the best thing about it was the incredible view which could be viewed from a very spacious lounge room balcony, master suite balcony and one other bedroom. The sunsets from this balcony were the best that I have ever experienced.

Unfortunately there were renovations taking place during our stay, which was not something the owners could control. This proved to be very noisy at times during the day. Also one of the bedrooms does not have an ocean view but rather a street view. The location is very central, right in front of the beach and near all the shops and restaurants, however with this comes a lot of street and traffic noise which is the price you pay for such a good location. Also you can swim at this beach, but the area for swimming is limited as it is mainly used for all the boats and catamarans coming in and out all day with tourists. At least there is plenty of action and the balcony provides the perfect viewing point.

Everything was perfect

The owner/host accommodated my request for early access to the apartment. Andreas met us downstairs and insisted on helping us carry our very heavy luggage into the apartment. Contacted us daily to enquire if we needed anything and if we were OK. Although Andreas was extremely professional, he was also "personal" with his kind personality. This apartment was right on the beach and 40m from a convenience store. Restaurants all around the property (again within 50m radius).

Absolutely nothing.

The location is exceptional & is close to everything. The host, Andreas, is very attentive.

The kitchen is a bit dated.

The accommodation had an amazing view over the water. Sitting on the balcony was a highlight as there was plenty of action below on the beach with people being ferried to the islands in the morning and arriving back in the evening with plenty of music. When we left the accommodation we were right into the action with bars, shopping centre and supermarket in the street. Definitely a great place for a group of adults to stay. Host was very accommodating and friendly. Complimentary bottles of water and half a dozen beers were waiting for us in the fridge.
