Gileston Manor-Self catering

Lovely house and gardens. Room was interesting - atmospheric and nice and quiet. Peaceful and well furnished. Smelled nice too. Loved the variety of birds and beautiful gardens.

There was a clattering of bottles very early in the morning (milkman maybe?) which was not the nicest way to rise from a slumber. The shower had great pressure, nice and hot but weird that the controls were on the opposite wall. Getting to the apartment at night was a bit of a trek, we tried two entrances before we got to the right one. The satnav took us a wild goose trip towards the beach so we had to do a U-turn.

The decor in the Cheese house was lovely and cosy. Just right for myself, 2 daughters & 2 dogs. There is a coop nearby for self catering just across the road at st athan.

The power station nearby is a bit of an eye sore and is quite noisy when out walking, although no noise at night.

Beautifully decorated with lovely fixtures and fittings that made the room which was more like an apartment (The Stables). Quiet location with the sea close by. Bed very comfy and bathroom very nicely laid out with a good rain water shower!! All rooms have under floor heating which is really nice to walk on in the winter.

Would have liked some wine glasses as only had champagne and glass tumblers. Underfloor heating in conservatory wasn’t working.

Great location for a quiet get away , accommodation was exceptional, very steep stairs in the coach house , maybe some rubber treds on the stairs to prevent anyone slipping down , but apart from that excellent accommodation
