Zanziblue Waves Beach Resort

We stayed at the Zanziblue Waves Resort for 7 nights and so we felt we got a good sense of the hotel. Overall it was a wonderful hotel and we really felt like we were in a tropical paradise. The things we enjoyed: - The powerful aircon in the rooms was amazing, even when the power cut, they were back on in minutes - Osman arranged a wonderful trip to Mnemba Island for us, and on the way back he called our driver to check-in with us to make sure we were okay and had a good time (we really appreciated this personal touch) - We loved the massages we had - The staff were friendly and helpful - We stayed in the Ocean/Sea front Bungalows which was stunning because we had direct access to the ocean which made for a beautiful view to wake up to - The pool was incredible and we spent most of our time here - We are Vegetarian and while the options were quite limited for us, we really loved the vegetable curry and the ravioli so much, the food was always fresh and tasty - The gym was insane! Really brilliant set-up. - 2 of the evenings there was entertainment. The one group of musicians were so wonderful. Many of us got up and one of the waiters taught us a dance. We loved that this was not every night, but scattered here and there. - The WhatsApp chat with the staff made things really accessible and they responded really quickly - We did voice a frustration with the staff about the pool and they quickly and promptly communicated with us (in person) which we really appreciated - My husband and I checked out at 5am to catch a flight, and it was arranged for us to receive a breakfast bag with a delicious sandwich and a platter of fruit because we would be missing breakfast (we loved this personal touch so much) - We noticed that a few afternoons they brought around free fruit skewers, which was a lovely touch - Overall it is a wonderful resort and we would recommend anyone to stay there

The things we noticed: - The beach is mostly coral, it's not a swimming beach/a place where you can enjoy a day on the beach, but this is not a fault, just something to note - There were a few things regarding the pool we wanted to mention, especially because the beach is not an option for swimming: - The pool hours are limited, (opens at 8am and closes at 7pm), making early morning swims and evening swims not possible. Other hotels on the island closed their pools at 10pm. - We understood that the limited pool hours were likely about safety, cleaning and servicing the pool. On a particular day, the pool was only open from 9:30am. We felt that if you close the pool early to clean it and limit guests to swim, then please clean the pool in those hours and not drag this into opening hours. - Rarely did staff come over to the pool where most guests were for most of the day to offer drinks or snacks, this does feel like a lost potential for income for the hotel and guest satisfaction. Most of the time we went looking for staff to order a drink at the pool. - An uncomfortable point, we noticed the younger pool and grounds staff standing around the pool watching people when they undressed and got into the pool. We also noticed them intently watch a group of women doing an outdoor workout routine, this really was not okay. Another uncomfortable instance was when my 70 year old mother was checking-out of her room at 11am, which was known to staff, and a male staff member walked into her room on check-out morning while she was in the shower. While I am sure it was a mistake, this is unacceptable. Finally, we did expect that the manager/s would have come over to guests to see how we were. I will add that even with these observations, we still rate this hotel 8/10 because we loved our time there.

Die Anlage, Pool, Villas ...alles sehr sauber. Die Lage ist mega, ausserhalb von Allem und ohne Transportmittel erreicht man gar nichts. Für mich genau das Richtige. (Im Dorf Kewengwa Beach kann man sich anschauen wie Urlaub mit kleinen, überfüllten Pools, viel Krach und lauter Musik sich anfühlt. Für mich ein NoGo.) Im Zanziblue Waves gibt es überaus freundliches und entgegen kommendes Personal welches fast alle extra Wünsche erfüllt. Das Essen war abwechslungsreich und sehr gut. Die Poollandschaft ist einfach nur TOP, immer genügend Plätze vorhanden. Ob in der Sonne oder im Schatten. So wie immer und überall, so auch am Pool perfekter Service. Das Personal hat nach einigen Tagen unsere Wünsche weitesgehend schon gekannt. Die Organisation von Ausflügen, Reservierungen von Taxis und die betreffenden Infos und Ratschläge waren sehr hilfreich und haben uns geholfen unerwünschte Überraschungen zu vermeiden. Vielen Dank an Radka und ihr ganzes Team. Die Tourguides wissen wovon sie reden und geben einen Einblick in Vieles wo man als Tourist erstmal vorbei läuft. Alles in Allem ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub, abschalten pur und trotzdem sehr viele schöne und intressante Ausflüge gemacht.

Ubicación preciosa, piscina y habitaciones increíbles. El trato en la recepción fue muy bueno. Especialmente por parte de una chica de República Checa :)
