Mosteiros Natural Pool House

The house is beautiful. The terrace overlooking the ocean is great with wonderful view. The location is prime. It was spotless clean. It is close to where one can go to the 'natural pools' in a few places. The house is in a one way street located on the right side (at least if you drive the way you should) so do not miss it or you have to go around. It has a 'manmade' pool (that fills with sea water) down toward the ocean shared with a neighbor. The washing machine and dishwasher are in a separate room accessed via the terrace. Note that you probably cannot park in front of the house. There are some 'unofficial' spaces but there were always other cars. There is free parking 150m 'before' the house on R. dos Moinhos.

1. It is far too overpriced even at low season. For that, we got a stack of tissues just like that on the table and a bar of soup left on the washbasin without any holder. The shower doors had some 'quirks'. And: No tea pot in the house! 2. No curtains, no shutters and no sunshade for the window toward the terrace. In the afternoon/evening the sun directly comes into your eyes whether you are in the balcony or in the house. 3. Windows cannot be open to the street or we did not manage it. One can blame 'safety' but a damp bedroom is the result. 4. We got one garbage bin with a plastic bag that was too small for it. For a property that claims to be 'green' a curious implementation. 5. The pool was full of algae. I guess it was in low season and they might have just not cleaned it up and with those beautiful pools outside we did not even think of going into that thing. 6. This is managed by a commercial company not a private owner; nothing was done with 'love'.

visited off season so they were able to accommodate an earlier checkin and later checkout. thank you! it is such a beautiful location. we have stayed nearby previously and prefer this property as there was a clothes dryer.

given there isn't good access to grocery stores in the town (zero access on Sundays), closest large store is >50min drive away, it would be helpful if the the hosts let the client know what is and isn't at the house. for example, what coffee pods to buy, how many laundry detergent pods are at the house?

Tolle Lage! Wer gerne am Pool oder auf der Terrasse liegt ist hier goldrichtig. Wir bekamen zweimal die Woche gereinigt und frische Handtücher, die Waschmittel für Spül- und Waschmaschinen wurden gestellt. Im Minimercado in der Nähe gibt es genug für Frühstück und Vesper. Ohne Auto ist es aber schwer, wegzukommen.

Der Pool ist zwar privat für nur 3 Häuser, aber das sehen andere Touristen nicht. Es gibt keine Abtrennung. Also kommen sie über die Felsen rübergeklettert. Wen das stört, der wird nicht hier nicht glücklich. Wer Gesellschaft mag, schon.

Wonderful location, incredibly new and comfortable home, beautiful view, one of the top 3 homes we have ever stayed in on vacations over the past 10 years. This is hands down the best property we stayed in while visiting the Azores, and we loved being so close to the natural pools. Not enough glowing words to say how magical this home is. We could cook meals, or bring home takeout to watch the sunset. Well-equipped kitchen, tons of hot water, plenty of beach towels, and a washing machine, make this place a true home while on vacation.

This is not negative at all, but just know a man-made pool below the property is not attached to this home. The property management company contacted us as soon as we made our reservation to let us know so it was not a surprise. We did walk over the rocks and down the public steps to get to the man-made pool and it was quite a disappointment compared to the real natural pools a few blocks away that were just marvelous.
