Splatzia old town maizonette

The location is excellent in the heart of old Xania . The apartment is quaint . It has a spacious living area with beams . It has an open plan kitchen with compact excellent shower room and toilet. The bedroom is up a wooden staircase, very nice, spacious and opens out onto a delightful terrace with views of the church clock tower , bougainvillea, and lemon trees. Panos - our contact - was very helpful when we arrived and also with information about restaurants etc ...He helped us sort out the heating ( it was cold and wet when we arrived) and the internet. Perfect.

The wooden staircase to the bedroom was quite steep . A hand rail might be useful . You had to be careful as the ceiling was low in parts. The crockery and cooking pans in the kitchen were a bit limited. OK just for 2 people but maybe more (eg. cups) if 4 people stay. It would help if there were instructions about the switches for the power supply with a photograph of the switches and what they were for.

There is enough space for 4 people. We stayed there as a family of 4 for 11 days. The location is great and everything is close to accommodation. You can be anywhere by foot in less than 10 minutes. Panos is communicative and responsive and was there to answer all our questions. There are many clean sheets and towels provided. There is also a washing machine which proved to be really helpful when coming from a whole day at the beach.

Unfortunately, there were several things that just weren't right. As soon as we got to the house and opened the door, the moldy and humid smell overwhelmed us. Because it is in the heart of the old town and an old house, it would make sence to smell a little bit, but this really was a big problem. My mom constantly coughed and wasn't able to breathe properly. The toilet seat was broken, and I saw that previous guests also had a complaint about that, so the owner should've had time to repair or replace it, but no. The AC on the ground floor wasn't properly cleaned so it smelled so bad when we tried to turn it on, that we just gave up. The Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong and didn't cover the whole house. There is a glass part on the front door, so if you need dark to sleep, this will be a big problem for you as the light shines through. There is really little daylight on the ground floor. All in all, for that kind of money, it is not worth it in our opinion. Shame, because it looked really promising.

The apartment is not properly cleaning. Some towels are old and rough, mirrors are dirty and he toilet sit is broken. The stairs to the second floor are very steepy

The apartment was not properly clean. The towels and the bed sheets were very old and they had stains. The suplementary bed is quite uncomfortable. The apartment can be cute but it has things to be improved, like the bathroom cleaning, the toilet seat because it was broken and the overall cleaning.

The property is in a great location and perfectly accommodated our family.
