Bastimentos Hill Guest House

The place was so beautiful and comfortable. We had the most beautiful view from the balcony Bastimentos is such a special place.

Perfect little spot with some incredible views. Really comfy bed. Hammocks to enjoy our on the balcony. All in all a really nice place.

Flexible check in and out, great manager, spacious room with AC and hot water and outdoor hammock areas. Good value for the money.

No issues with the Guest House. The island itself has very, very few food options - as in 2, maybe 3, small restaurants and 2 very, very small grocery stores.

We had a great time staying in Bastimentos — the town is very nice, with lots of great local restaurants serving delicious fresh food. The hosts (father and son) at this guest house make the place though, they are incredibly friendly and always happy to help, be it lending us snorkeling gear or a surfboard, or organising a very good value boat trip to Coral Cay with a friend of his (who also showed us a sloth in the mangroves!). It is an easy and safe 20-minute walk on a well-marked path (with monkeys!) to the beautiful and empty Wizard beach. From there you can keep walking to Red Frog (but this walk is through the jungle). Boats leave regularly from the town to Bocas Town. The room itself was basic but had everything we needed and was phenomenal value — we were very grateful for the A/C!

The kitchen facilities are very basic — but the local restaurants are great so eat there!

Good location in the center of the town with a nice view of the see. Large common areas and kitchen. Lovely dog.

The room was not clean and there was no space to put our clothes. The kitchen and the common tables were not cleaned. Some of our food was stolen in the fridge

A room bit outdated but beds quite comfy, wifi and a/c worked well. Nice hammocks area on the balcony outside the room.

Extremely loud both- during the day ( music outside for a full volume) as in the morning ( dosens of roosters started the day at 4 a.m. accompanied by barking dogs). Somebody stole the food and drinks I brought with me for the island stay, and there is a poor option to replace it - no staff to tell that. Common spaces open and without any supervision- anybody can come unnoticed( and steal the food or other things). A member of staff got in to my room before check-out, even though the key was inside. Problems with card transaction- first the terminal was broken, then it worked by wanted to charge me extra fee, I did not agree and the owner got angry. After all apologized, but I did not feel safe there, and because of all of that not extend my stay. Play room at the rear of the building- joke- look on the picture. 5$ for water taxi going to island.

Great view from balcony, nice and helpful owner, friendly atmosphere, AC, nicely decorated, interesting other travelors, we very much enjoyed our stay.

No door to balcony, it still has to be constructed, we had to climb through window, but it was funny and we enjoyed the experience :-). Kitchen utensils could have been a little more generous

Friendly place but we all left ill. Cleanlyness isnt the best

Really good value. The hotel itself was very chill. Everytime I saw Enrique (owner I think?) he checked in to make sure I was good.

Shared kitchen could use a little freshening up, but still everything was totally functional.
